Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Ok, I changed.

In order to stay at AKV, we would have to change our room type more than once....we would never feel like we were "home"...and I cant wait to see if my waitlist would come in or not....and then DD11 chimed in that she doesnt want to move at all!
So we were lucky to get back into SSR for all our night, and we will arrive one day earlier now:)

Oprah is ruining my plans. I've been waiting for an August discount to come out so I could splurge and stay at a monorailresort or the BC and Oprah has this show on about the economy and changing our spending...:sad2:

Now I feel as if I need to be more frugal!!!!

Oprah doesn't look like she's cutting anywhere-trips to Capri, Jimmy Choo shoes, 5 million houses....
I don't let her tell me what to do. She has a lot of money but according to her, she can't stop eating, she can't have a relationship, etc.

Good to know about the CR. I have never really given it any thought to staying there. I have 2 of my 3 kids excited to stay at the BC and one who wants to stay at CBR in a pirate room of all things. He is 14! I still don't know. There is the cheap part of me kicking myself for giving up POP and then there is the resort snob in me who wants what she wants - the monorail. I don't think I'll be happy until I actually check in somewhere ::yes::

Well I changed again. For the last and final time. I got the GF. I wanted the monorail and now I got it. My kids are very excited to be going back there. So am I. I just loved it there. The rooms are huge, the monorail. What more can I say?! LOL!

So I think I am cured. At least for now :crazy2: !!!!

so much for arriving a day earlier....forgot abt DD's dance recital..oops!lol

Oh, now this I gotta see! If you change out of GF because it would be cheaper to stay at (fill in the blank) because of the (fill in the blank) I will seriously laugh and then wait patiently for you to change to another monorail resort! :goodvibes

So where are you staying again?!?!?! :confused3

Look, can't we just get rotating tickers or little symbols next to our user names so we can see where we are staying? :rotfl:

Ok ladies, I have a serious question for y'all!

I am debating over whether or not to stay at WDW between Christmas and New Years. I would like to arrive on December 28th and leave on January 2nd. I currently have a reservation (I know, if I'm making closet ressies I must have a problem!) at POR.

So, should I stick with ressie, or split the stay, three days at POR and then the last three at BLT, or should I split it between the Poly and BLT, or between a studio at OKW followed by three days at the Poly, or perhaps some other ungodly combination I haven't come up with yet?

Now I am being very serious here. I have to call this Sunday to make my BLT reservation, and need to know if you guys think I should book it at BLT or not. TIA :flower3:

I would def book BLT on Sunday, you ARE an owner, enjoy this perk of booking and enjoying this great new resort! We visited the room model here at Doorway to Dreams, DD11 cant wait to stay there!!!

Heck yes, book BLT!! We need a spy to give us all the scoop. It will be another resort thrown into our already mixed up minds:).
Seriously, I would so book BLT. I hate the Poly, so I'd stay with POR or OKW. How many in your group?

It's for the three of us, but the 16 year old (who will be 17 this summer) needs his own bed, so I think I'll book a 1 bedroom lake view for August 31st - Sept 4th (115 pts) and the 1 bedroom MK view for Dec 31-Jan 2 (107 pts). :cool1:

Then I just have to decide between POR, Poly, and a WL Club level room before November! I am seriously leaning towards POR though - we all miss it so much! :sad1:

The first stay at BLT won't be until the end of August, but I will take a lot of photos of everything from the Lobby to the room! :goodvibes

Thanks Ladies!!

I posted this already and then realized that the posters on this thread would feel my pain. I swear that I change my mind every hour. The frugal part says go mod, the beach lover wants BC, but I've always wanted to stay at a monorail, but it seems like sooo much $$$ for 2 rooms. So what's the best bang for my $$$.

I'm hoping that I can get some help from the experts!!! Sorry if this ends up being long. My family hasn't been any help. Oldest wants the GF (thinks we should stay at the "best" place), my husband just says go for the cheapest, another one wants animals, another wants BC.... There are 7 of us so I have to ultimately make the call. Plus I am celebrating my 50th birthday so I want to be happy.

If the 4/7 deal comes out, I will be booking on Monday.

So, I priced out some of the options for room only. I think we will stay at a deluxe since we will be saving so much with the deal. We need 2 rooms for all of us.

Here are the estimates:

AKL - pool view $2,200
AKL - Club - $2,700
Cont - Bay Lake - $3,500
BC - standard - $3,000
GF - $3,600

I could also book 3 rooms at CSR $2000 or 3 preferred rooms at CBR for $2,350. (or 2 rooms for $1,350 or 1,570)

I read the posts that say to go with the theme you like best, but they all have something special. So I was looking at the prices. There is around a $1,400 difference between the CR or GF and the AKL and even more when compared to a mod.

So here's our basic plan. We will probably spend every other day at a water park and usually visit Epcot every day. On our park days we spend the morning at the park, eat lunch there and then go back to the hotel to hang out at the pool. We will then have a TS dinner and hit a park.

So what would you do???:scratchin

If you stay at BC that resort has SAB, so you could cut out the water parks, right? And BC is a walk away from EPCOT, so you would be close to the park you want to go to. I would book BC, get rid of the extra water park days and spend those at SAB instead (saving you $$$) and have a great 50th! (I'm right behind you ;) )

I guess no one noticed my upcoming stay...LOL....too hard changing tickers all the time! LOL

I am going to try to get BLT for my Sept trip for 2 nights!! Have u seen the 1 bdr's there? ! WOW! AND it has the extra full bathroom! I have pics if you want to see!!!

I'll have to admit that in our handful of times being at WDW I've never changed a reservation for a resort...that is until now. Was booked for CL at BWI but really wanted to stay at either the Poly or GF. We have a 5 yr old and spend most of our time at MK anyhow so being close was the perk for us. Called and found out Poly would only be $200 more and GF was $300 more (both for CL rooms as well). So I switched to Poly but part of me wants to stay at GF. But, I'm thinking that we might go to WDW in May for my birthday and stay at the GF then. I'm happy we're staying at the Poly since we've been there quite a few times but never actually stayed at the resort. I feel so confused though :confused3 :confused3

We'll be there at the beginning of Dec and I know that the GF is better decorated at Christmas than the Poly is. But then I keep reminding myself that I can just jump on the monorail to go see all the decorations and gingerbread house at the GF. I also realize there's nothing better than being in a room (Hawaii longhouse) that's just steps away from the beach, the pool and the boat launch to MK. I think I'm going to lose my mind. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Can you please show me pics? I would love to see them!! :)

Oh and not only the extra full bathroom, but they also have a sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair in the living room. I can hardly wait to stay there!

When are you going in September Ms. Beach Club Lady? :goodvibes

If you plan to go to Epcot everyday and really want to do lots of swimming definitely stay at the BC.

Oprah has more money than god. Ignore her and book a monorail resort - it will help the economy in the long run, right? :)

:goodvibes ::yes::

And, by the way, I'd order the BLT in a minute. The rooms are beautiful!!! When I grow up, I want to be just like you!!!

We are actually hoping that with the move we can purchase DVC. (Pray that our house sells for what we are asking)

Seriously - I hope your house does sell for a very good price! I know how stressful that can be (and how it interferes with Disney planning) :goodvibes
