Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

What a good girl she is! I'm glad you got some sleep, and all in a row!

I just posted a question to the Poly thread:rolleyes1

If it weren't for co-sleeping and side nursing I wouldn't get any sleep, but thankfully I know better than to listen to the doctors. ;) lol

I saw your question. I wish I could answer it for you!

Joining in! :cool1:

After many and I mean many changes: AKL Pool View, Contemporary Them Park View, Coronado, Caribbean, POR, and POP, I FINALLY got the one I wanted.....

POFQ Oct. 27-Nov. 3!!!!! I've been wanting this one for three years!!!!

Gabbie

Whoo Hoo!! I love it when you finally book the big one!! I know this is how I will feel when we finally get to the BC. I I'll do a happy dance with you :dance3:

Yup. although I thought yesterday was Friday, so technically TODAY I can say I am three weeks away from the toes in the sand yada yada... :rotfl2: I have this Thursday/Friday issue quite often. :rolleyes1

Poly CL here I come! I'm packing tomorrow. For sure.

Never say "for sure" on this tread....LOL We are NEVER "for sure".... One of our mottoes is once you say "for sure" you change your ticker.....lol

we own @ BWV & VWL:goodvibestotally different vibe but both amazing resorts in their own right.

fyi, i cancelled a res for end of July @ BWV & switched to AKV which i had booked 11 months prior. Not sure if it's been announced publicly but my reservation confirmation indicated that the pool would be closed for rehab during our stay. It didn't indicate whether it referred to the main or one of the smaller pools. I'm not sure if it applies to all guests but we've been permitted to use the SAB pool when it's closed, for us it's a bonus but i wanted to save points so i switched to AK for after my cruise.

such a great resort! imo it fares well as to common space/theme with many of the deluxe resorts.:thumbsup2what building did you request?

I requested a standard view as close to transportation as they could get, on a higher floor....so we have a view of something.

Gabbie

She let me get 6 whole hours last night! I'm feeling like a new woman today! :rotfl:

i babysit my 1st GD (soon to be 8 months old) her name is liliana...funny, as i'd never heard the name before.

she's one of those disney babies;)BLT to be exact lol, princess lily of peter pan tie in.

Okay, I spent the morning catching up, viewing photos, reading about night feedings, packing, and, most of all, resort change chatter. One of the reasons we started this thread was because we needed a place for resort chatter. I love this place. Sooooooo......I am officially on Spring Break and AWAY from the 9th graders for a week and a day....:cool1::rotfl2::cool1::rotfl2: (Breakdancing)....get it...."BREAK dancing.....spring.....break.....:sad2: never mind. Anywhoo I have a few dilemmas that I need to chat about... jump in at anytime....CR for life i NEED your input....

1. I live and teach in 2 different districts.
2. I am not tenured yet because we just moved here
3. My children start school after Labor day making a late August trip possible
4. I teach in a district that starts school mid August, making late trip impossible
5. They asked me on Friday to renew my contract....
6. I have applied in the district where I live and where my children go to school
7. I have 2 different reservations at 2 different resorts for 2 different times...

I am beside myself to the point where I have not made dining reservations and it is driving me crazy.....I want to at least know when I am going.

I am booked a CR and BC. I have never stayed at either resort. I love the size of CR but I love the location of the BC. I've never stayed at a monorail resort and CR is a better price and closer to the restaurants we love (Ohana, and all of the CR eateries). I got a great price because I was able to book standard at CR, evidently there is a part of CR that is away from the main lobby. Can someone help we understand these rooms. Are they okay? Will I hate them? Should we just go for BC on either week. I want to resolve my issues during spring break but it will be difficult. Okay....let the resort, vacation advice begin.....:yay:

I just realized something...

I don't know what I'm going to do after the upcoming May trip is over. I have TWO trips this year AFTER that, but.... I rented point for both June and November trips, so I'm not even capable of "resort changing" for those! I mean let's face it, I changed the resort plans for the May trip FIVE times! :rotfl: I guess that's why I got the deluxe dining plan for June and November... at least I can change ADRs every single day of my life. :surfweb:

p.s. what am I doing on the DIS when I should be :laundy: and packing?!? :upsidedow

Aww! I just love the little ones! I hadn't heard Lilyana too often either and then my dad's boss says his DGD has the SAME EXACT name. Lilyana Emilia. I wanted to change her birth certificate immediately. I didn't want her to have a common name. I actually settled on this one because no one liked anything else I chose. I love the Peter Pan tie in!!! I didn't even think of it.

That's why I just can't commit to renting points, no matter how many times I work out the cost per point at every single DVC resort (including OKW and SSR even though I'd never stay there). Clearly I have way too much time on my hands at work. :rolleyes1

Hmm that's a tough call. I'd love to stay at BC one day, but not today if that makes sense. For now, with the kids, I love staying on the monorail. I don't know that I'd ever really love the location of BC at any point, though. I don't mind hopping on the monorail to Epcot if I'm staying at any of the monorail resorts (especially Poly with the walk to TTC :cloud9:).

I think the rooms you're talking about are the Garden Wing rooms. They're in a separate building. I think they're pretty much the same as the tower rooms, except they don't have a balcony. The first floor has a patio and anything above that has a pseudo balcony (like the Poly rooms on the 2nd floor in most longhouses).

I am officially thinking about Poly now.....

I've gone from bad to worse.

CamsmommE, you promised to pack today....step AWAY from the Dis, step AWAY from the DIS....

I am I am! I'm nowhere NEAR the DIS (I'm answering this post telepathically...) :rolleyes1

2nd load of laundry is in. At my house, that is a HUGE indication of forward-moving progress! :rotfl2:

What happened to the BC/CR debate?! :rotfl:

er...:confused:ummm:eek:..... :idea:now there are 3......:goodvibes I was thinking that Poly would give quick access to EPCOT. I am a little worried, too, about not getting a room with a daybed. That would be horrible for us. We only have 4 but I have a DS16 and a DS 10 and they cannot sleep in the same bed without killing each other....:sad2:

I'm glad you're breakdancing:dancer: We're on Spring Break, too. Does this mean your kids are not on Spring Break at the same time you are?

I've stayed many times at the CR, it's our favorite resort. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

The Garden Wing rooms are the rooms not in the Tower. There are two bookable views: STD (parking lot) and GARDEN (canal, pool or Bay Lake). The rooms are exactly the same inside in the GW as in the Tower (regular) rooms. I highly recommend trying the CR, it's a WDW icon.

At the CR, everything is under one roof, you can walk to the MK, the monorail runs through it, the Bay Lake views are beautiful, you can boat to FTW and WL. There's a great quick serve and three restaurants and the standard rooms are some of the largest on property. I love the soft, Asian styling of the rooms, too.

If you did book GARDEN WING STANDARD VIEW, I would look into seeing how much more a GARDEN VIEW room would be and request a room facing Bay Lake. They are spectacular. Keep in mind that the GW rooms do not have balconies. If you want to be able to walk out, you'll need to request a ground floor room so that you'll have a patio, if it's available.

As far as the BC is concerned, I, umm, just changed our BC Deluxe/CL room to a YC/CL room:rolleyes1. There is ongoing exterior renovations at the BC through 2011 and with multiple reports of the public areas and CL lounge being so crowded and chaotic over at the BC, I just wouldn't be happy with that kind of frenetic atmosphere. We would have prefered WL/CL or to even extend our CR stay, but neither were available, so the YC it is!

If it weren't for co-sleeping and side nursing I wouldn't get any sleep, but thankfully I know better than to listen to the doctors. ;) lol

I saw your question. I wish I could answer it for you!

Well, a couple of nice people did answer my question, but I ended-up booking the YC instead:laughing:. I feel much better now (the glass of wine helps, too) and you guys and DH will no longer have to hear my BC misgivings:thumbsup2.

When do we get to see another photo of your precious Disney doll? A cute little Easter dress and bonnet sure would be nice (hint, hint).

Kaffinito: I hope you have a great trip Sunday and everything goes as planned. We expect photos with your TR!

pas130: I hope your weekend is going well. I know you have to work today, so just be careful driving home and keep up the exercise - we're all so proud of you:goodvibes

Hannah: I hope you're not working the whole weekend, but if you are, those customers sure are lucky and, it's better than being on the Dan Ryan!

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend of WDW planning and changing:goodvibes. Keep us posted:thumbsup2

Well, then I change my vote. POLY! POLY! POLY! :rotfl:

Sorry step-

I lost my internet connection so couldn't get back to you. :(

Short version
1. Keep BC
2. Change your dates from August to either early June or Thanksgiving week.

I'll explain more later when ' net comes back up and I'm not on phone. :goodvibes

Well, I don't have anything for Easter just yet, but will this do?
