Resort Change by Disney

I also called to modify a pre July 4 Pop reservation, and was transferred to a “special team” for these dates. I’ve been on hold for 2 hours thus far, so hopefully someone will pick up soon!

ETA: are there reports of people actually being moved to a DVC from a value like Pop? I haven’t read through this entire thread, but I didn’t see any reports in the last few pages.

Someone somewhere (I've been hopping between forums) said that someone they knew with the July 4 or earlier dates had been moved from AoA to Saratoga 1 Bedroom Villa. Otherwise I've heard of people being moved to FW Cabins from Movies.

I haven’t seen anyone confirm a move to a certain resort.

Me too! I went ahead booked a room at Universal with just putting down a deposit as a back up. I don’t want to wait to long to get our plans in place. We fly down the beginning of August.
How much of a deposit do you have to put down at Universal? I'm strongly considering it myself just to have something on the books, especially if we get our reservation ironed out at Disney but can't get park reservations.

The price of 1 nights stay. They also have a ticket sale buy 2 days get 2 days free. They are saying those who stay at a Universal resort have guaranteed entry into the parks. So others who are not staying at one of their resorts may not get in if they reach their capacity.

I read that too, but I can't remember where.

Not sure about this. I think you can have Kidani open to the public and Jambo closed or restricted to sports team people only. They might have to add extra dining at Kidani but other than that I don’t see why they couldn’t do it. But I’m not familiar enough to know if anything at Jambo could not physically be blocked off.

I have seen people here thinking that those with Jambo resies on DVC points could be moved to Kidani.

I think they will run into some legal trouble in taking DVC rooms from owners and using them for others.

While hotel is closed to all guests, shifting to Kidani seems legal...giving those rooms to someone else when the hotel isn’t closed, probably not allowed.

That is why I just don’t see them using Jambo for sports teams needed to stay in a bubble.

Unless you are plopped at BCV with only their tiny leisure pool because their feature pool (stormalong bay) is closed. For a summer stay where pooltime will be key, I'd consider that a downgrade from most moderates, which have feature pools.

I don’t know if I missed this yesterday or if it is new information added today. But this is copied from Disney’s before you go info page. It says BCV guests can use BWV’s Luna Park feature pool & their quiet pool too. Nice to see more than just BCV’s quiet pool offered.

Activities

  • Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will not be available during the initial reopening period; Guests of Disney’s Beach Club Villas may use the resort leisure pool, and may also use the Luna Park Pool and leisure pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas

I did call back, I hadn't really planned to keep checking and checking, but I got up early this morning so....

I was able to move our trip back 3 weeks, had to shift to 7 nights at DVC at Poly from GF -- and it is rack rate. (We had a really nice AP discount at GF.) I'll keep an eye on our if/when I can do that online, but we're happy with the outcome for now. It took being extremely flexible (I told the CM to propose any date, any length, any rate, any deluxe resort that was available) to make it work. Based on that (basically "anything goes") the CM gave me two options and this is the one we chose.
Wow , I don’t think most people could be that flexible. So glad it worked out for you! Hope our have a great vacation :)

Yes. Reports of SSR and OKW for those being moved for free..Ft Wildnerness to

Something if you want to take a peek at DVC inventory under 60 days out is the "Last Minute Getaways" page on the DVC site. You don't need to be a member or login to see it, and the report runs once a day: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/vacation-planning/resort-availability-stays/

Now granted the first week listed shows resorts that are still closed, but you can see how availability grows and shrinks for the next few weeks especially with these modifying regular room reservations.

I don’t remember that listed either yesterday. That might just over crowd the Luna Park pool 🤷‍♀️.

Have been on hold for 2+ hrs for the special team to see about moving our 7/2-7/7 stay at CBR to a different hotel for same dates. I don’t know if we would do it, but I want to see what they offer...I certainly would love a Poly bungalow for the same price as my CBR preferred room. 😆Even with no parks, maybe resorts at low occupancy with pools and a dole whip would be a nice break 😀

I’m not to fond of SSR. I haven’t seen OKW. I have seen Fort Wilderness and I could deal with that since it close to MK

Not really. Two "sports conversation" guys called them three resorts. NBA reporters are reporting only CSR - which they still wouldn't come close to filling. It would make no sense on their part or Disney's to split them up. Of course never say never but that would be a dumb move.

THIS^

They are in a bubble, they will be regularly tested, they have been told that later as some leave and families come they can not go to the parks, they will not let anyone else in a secured bubble.

It has been further confused that two ESPN conversation guys called it multiple hotels ... likely the guys only ramble and don't research. Probably saw GranDestino, Ranchos, Casitas, Cabana and assumed they were mulitple hotels. You can't control a bubble in multiple hotels. So if they do put them in multiple hotels then you have negated the entire process of protecting them and creating a bubble. I am going with the more credible NBA guys who say just CSR.

MLS will be interesting as they will overlap, but given they will play in the same complex they could decide to share the same hotel. I think CSR is large enough but will NBA share?

FWIW—they’ve shared before under different circumstances. They shared a chartered cruise ship with WNBA players during the last Summer games.

I have a room only at Universal Royal Pacific booked a back up . They only require one night deposit and it’s refundable up to 5 days before check in . Though I think they changed that to 24 hours before now.

I called this morning and the cast member told me that my reservation was slated to be canceled anyway so not to make a payment. My check in day is July 9 and I found that a bit concerning. I know things are constantly changing but he said guests only through July 4 are being transferred. I told him that I was hoping mine will get transferred as well but he did not say anything back. Not sure if the offer will end after for dates after July 4 or not.

This is not what I was told this morning and my CM seemed very knowledgable. I check in on July 5th. They are letting people modify in phases. The current phase is for reservations up until July 4th. The next phase of modifications will include July 5th through some date I'm not aware of. They are doing it in phases as not to overload the phone/reservation system. The CM I spoke to told me to keep an eye out on my email and Disney Blog for the beginning of the next phase. She said it will happen very soon.

I didn’t notice it yesterday either...and it has changed from the original link too.

I do know DVC members will be happy,

Unfortunately, the problem could be that someone will walk all the way over and find pool at capacity from BWV guests.

Any reports on what they are doing for moving moderates? I am booked at CBR from July 1-3 and confirmed with that email and it said "we'll contact you shortly"...Wonder what that meant..
