Hey Guys, Hey,
SO we're staying at ASMu in November and according to a woman at the switchboard of the hotel, buses start running 1 hour before park opening. Usually we stay off property and drive to early adr, but this time we were planning on doing buses. I asked what she suggested and she suggested taking cabs to adr's. Can some one give me what their experiences have been with this?

Taking busses to resort ADRs is a pain. Especially early morning ones. Now if this is poly or contemporary with monorail it may work. And you could make it work for Beach Club with the boat and bus to DHS.... but if your trying to get to AK? That probably isn't going to work out so well in the morning. There aren't really busses running from the parks to the hotels that early in the morning.

The only time I did a breakfast ADR at a resort I wasn't staying in we had a car and just drove.

We drive to all ADRs and save the buses for the parks.

Enjoy.

:)

They generally have early buses for Character b/fasts. When you arrive, just ask a bus driver.

We usually take taxis to our early morning ADRs. Disney will tell you that if you are relying on their buses/boats/monorails to get to and ADR to leave yourself 90 minutes to get where you need to go. I'd much rather sleep in for an extra hour and grab a taxi.

From personal experience do not rely on buses to get you to an early breakfast reservation...for $10-17 bucks take a cab, its less stressful

First, buses start running at 6:30, not one hour before the park opens.

I love early ADRs for breakfasts at the parks so we can get in early and see the park empty. We had an 8:10 ADR for Crystal Palace last year; we planned to arrive at the bus-stop at 7:00 and as we were walking to the stop, the MK bus pulled up and we hopped on. We were at MK by 7:20, waited by the turnstiles until we were let in about 7:30, then waited at the rope by the train station until we were let in right at 8:00. We were first into the park and I got to see Main Street completely empty. :)

We also did Tusker House about 8:30 and followed a similar plan - we had no trouble getting there for our ADR.

If you want to do breakfast at one of the resorts - Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana, for example, you might find it easier and less stressful to take a cab, but the buses will be running and you can take one to the nearest park, like MK, and take a boat from there to the Poly or walk to the CR. If I wanted to do breakfast ADRs and depend on Disney transportation, I would lean towards having those ADRs at park restaurants rather than resort restaurants.

We did early breakfast at Kona Cafe, CRT and Chef Mickey's before park opening and took the buses to all of them and had no problems with time. Buses run at 6:30 am and will get you there.

We always use the early morning character buses to get to early morning meals and tours. Never had a problem. If you call CRO they will tell you they know nothing about those early morning character buses or that they don't exist and you will need to take a cab. Not true!:rotfl: We've been using them for years. In fact, this past Feb 4th-11th we were on the DxDDP and used them every single morning.:rotfl: Getting to the park ones were easy. Just catch the early morning bus to that park. To get to Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, and Chef Mickey's we caught the early morning bus to MK then walked to Chef Mickey's and monorailed or caught a boat to the other two. To get to Cape May we caught the early morning bus to DS, then boat to Beach Club. To get to Bomas, catch a bus to AK and tell the bus driver on the way that you need to get to AKL. He'll radio ahead and a bus should be pulling up to the AKL bus stop about the time you arrive. (The bus that takes guests from AKL to AK, may or may not be going back to AKL, so just ask your driver and he'll call ahead to have a bus there for you.)

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to hear that the buses start as early as 6:30. Usually we have a rental, but if worse comes to worse we'll do the cab, we only have 2 non park early adr's.
