How long does it take from Art of Animation Resort to the Magic Kingdom via the Bus System?

How long to Downtown Disney?

Will it be a DIRECT RUN from this Resort, or do they make many stops?

Will I be able to get a BUS SCHEDULE upon arrival to WDW.

I am splitting Hotel Stays. I will be staying at the Contemporary Hotel for 3 nights, and the Art of Animation for 2 nights.
Arriving early December.......... Not sure how crowded the Buses get during this time of year........

I can only answer the part about bus schedules. There are no schedules. In general, buses will run about every 20 minutes, but they use a virtual dispatching system to ensure they are utilizing their resources efficiently.

AoA to MK is normally 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

AoA to DTD varies by time of day. It's also about 15-20 minutes in the afternoon & evening, depending on traffic. In the morning, buses from all resorts stop at Typhoon Lagoon before going to DTD, which adds 10 minutes or more to the travel time, so about 25-40 minutes. Returning from DTD can take as long as an hour, due to multiple stops, heavy traffic in the DTD area, TL exit traffic, and possibly a driver change.

In addition to that, allow 20 minutes wait time. If you absolutely want to be at a park by a certain time, allow 1 hour total. If going between resorts, allow 90 minutes, as 2 buses (or other form of transportation) will be involved.

Currently, buses from AoA to the parks do not make any stops on the way, except buses to AK stop at BB most of the day (that's true from most resorts.)

As per PP, there are no set schedules for Disney buses, other than the target is to have one every 20 minutes or less. Buses to the parks run from about 6:30 a.m. until each park's closing time; buses back from the parks run until the last guest leaves the park. Buses to DTD run from about 8:30 a.m. until midnight, with return buses until 2 a.m. Buses to the waterparks start about 1 hour before opening, and return buses run until the park is clear of guests.

This time of year 'used' to be less busy. But, every year it gets more and more crowded!!! I've been going to WDW the first week (or second) in Dec since '03....used to be wonderful. Now, much more crowded. So, plan for a fair amount of people in the parks. And on the buses.
