Resort Bonding

Our home resorts are OKW and BCV. We are most bonded to OKW. We LOVE all the space, the big patio. the very FLORIDA setting.

But right now, I don't really crave going back. My home resort is faithful. She will always be there for me, waiting at the 11 month mark. Meanwhile, there are all these sexy new resorts to try out. I'm going to play the field a bit. Then when I've had my fun, I'll come home.

I guess you'd say I'm a bigamist then. I just entered into this one-weekend-a-year long term fling with BLT. But I really just did it so I'd appreciate my first DVC partner (SSR) more. After all, SSR knows I'll be back to sleep in his beds most. He didn't seem to mind when I had that brief BWV fling last Fall.

I'm just hoping BLT becomes an equally comfortable place to have that weekend fling. BWV was a total gentleman to me though he lacks some of the bells & whistles of the new fellas.

He have 2 home resorts: VWL and SSR. This May we will be staying exclusively at VWL - a first for us as we generally do a split stay. I'm kinda sad that we won't have that SSR connection until December
We haven't stayed at any of the other resorts yet....maybe someday.

I'm not sure I could own at rsort if I didn't adore it(at the time of purchase). That's why all I want right now are AKV and BCV (and GF, if and when)

We like many of you on this post own more than one resort. Our original home resort was HHI and the reason we initially fell in love with DVC. Since then we have added on at OKW, SSR, AKV and soon we will add another to our home resorts...GCV.

We love each one of our home resorts and even those we can't call home but HHI still holds a special part of our heart because that is what brought us into the club.

All around I just have to say I am in LOVE with the entire DVC offering. Can you feel the love tonight????

I have my favorite resorts and those are the ones at which I own points. OTOH, all of the DVC resorts offer something desirable, so wherever I stay I can and do enjoy the amenities and offerings of all. So even though I have "bonded" I'm not above enjoying the fruits of the other resorts.

Hmmm - the only specific resort I "crave" is VB, which is not a home resort. I really like variety and can't really imagine only staying at one resort every trip. That said, I've had that "oooooooh - I LOVE it here" feeling about BCV and AKV. I'm sure I'll feel that way about the treehouses too - since I've gazed longinly at them from a ferry boat for many years...

So, I'd say that I've bonded with my home resorts and also with two non-home resorts. There are four that I don't really care to return to - none of which I own.

We bought into BWV, VWL and AKV in that order. We have also stayed at OKW twice. I've bonded with all of those resorts but my favorite is whichever of the four I stayed at most recently!

My "Home" is not open yet, but I toured the models, and it is the one for me. As far as OKW, I have never stayed there, but have visited, and enjoy the atmostphere.

In a couple of weeks we'll have 3 home resorts and we love them all. I think the GC will hit the top of the list once it opens as we visit DLR more often then WDW.

Our family loves staying at our home resorts. We often daydream about them, especially when we are home here in NH. I had my first trip to WDW in 1978 as a second grader and have loved it ever since! I stayed in a Tree House Villa in 1986 and had a blast running around with my sister. I now I get to bring my parents and siblings, my husband and daughters and nephews
all together to enjoy Disney and the luxury of DVC. I was bonded before I knew what bonded was!

I love our Boardwalk home. We've stayed other places as well and will continue to but I always look forward to our visits home to the Boardwalk. We'll be there this September!

I love and crave return visits!! I do look forward to the others, but have a difficult time not booking at SSR. I guess I like the condo style because love OKW also.

Us too. We love the condo feel. OKW is such a beautiful little neighborhood, which we have enjoyed "living in" for the past 15 years. We have stayed at all the DVC resorts, including VBR and HHI. The only other DVC resort we had to have was SSR. Even though we had no interest when we heard about it, we ended up staying there one last minute trip since our beloved OKW was not available. We ended up falling in love with it also, and did our one and only add on there.

BCV and VWL are nice, but feel too crowded for us. We have zero interest in AKV, especially the DVC "lite" rooms in Jambo. Kidani looks a bit tacky, IMO, though the units themselves are very nice. I'm surprised by the use of shingles on the roofs instead of thatch.

We are very interested in points at BLT and GCV, but we are done buying points now. I would have to sell a contract to own there, and I don't want to part with my SSR or OKW points. We will just use our 7 month window and take a chance with those two resorts.

We love each and every resort we have stayed at, usually for different reasons. As long as I am at WDW, it really doesn't matter where I am staying!

I'm definately smitten with the WLV , as I broke off a 6 year relationship with OKW so as not to be "two timing". I sold OKW to purchase WLV as I had to have the 11 month window for December stays. However, that said, I don't mind booking a last minute trip and staying at either SSR or OKW as there really isn't a "bad" place to stay on Disney property. All the DVC resorts are deluxe and lovely. While I would love to try BW and BCV and AKV, my WLV just keeps calling me back . I just booked a December 2009 10 ten day stay, 6 of which will be in a two bedroom with my sister's family and the next 4 just me and the folks relaxing in a studio. While I'll love vacationing with Katie (4) and Jillian (2), I'll definately enjoy the 4 nights in the studio.
