I really don't think we can judge the availability at the different DVC resorts based on incidental information. The other day I ran some random dates through the WDW resort booking system to see what would come up. (I also learned about the press for detail step -- thanks!).

Just now I was playing around again. I punched in dates and asked for "Any Home Away From Home". For those dates, BCV and OKW came up with availability. Then I went back and specifically asked for BWV on those same dates. Lo and behold -- BWV is also available for those dates. I just did the same for VWL and had the same results. When requested individually it comes up. When requested as "Any Home Away from Home" it does not.

I don't think any of us can make an assumption that any resort is being over used or under used based on what we ourselves know. It would have to come from the person who "holds all the cards" and that would be the folks at Disney.

PamOKW,
All I know is what MS tells me when I call for ressies. If they say "no availability" at resort X, I take them at their word.

Oh, I don't doubt that MS is giving us the correct availability.

There has been a question raised on some other threads here as to whether OKW has an over abundance of vacant rooms because members are not staying there but, instead, are filling up other resorts. There is a question as to whether the system is out of balance. One of the indications cited was the availability of OKW rooms for rent from Disney through the reservation system. My recent experience indicates that this doesn't really give us a true picture either since there are so many variables.

I started this as a seperate thread to give the "slide" thread a chance to rest.

Sorry. I misunderstood your question. I agree with your point that we have no way of knowing who is staying where.
