We love going to WDW in late April and early May. It's right between the spring break rush and summer break, so it's usually a slower time. However, I had trouble finding resort availability during this time. The choices available for Disney resorts were very limited, there was nothing available at S/D, and all the Universal hotels were booked solid. Is something going on during that time?? Or have people just realized it's a great time to go?? Should we expect huge crowds?

Luckily I go through Dreams Unlimited .... they were able to get me what I wanted. :) If it weren't for them I'd still be on the phone with CRO ten times a day.

I was wondering the same thing. We are going 5/2-5/8. Our first night, we are staying at POR and then 5 nights at the POLY. We'd like to have all our nights at the POLY, but nothing is available with discount except a lagoon view (which would still cause us to move). I even checked regular rates and all that is available is a lagoon view or lagoon view concierge. Hope the parks won't be too crowded!

We've got 6 nights at POFQ and 4 at Pop Century right now. We'd like 11 at POFQ, so Dreams is still working on it for us. I'm just really surprised to see things so booked up. I should have been more on the ball making our plans, but I got sidetracked and let it slip up on me. Usually it's not this hard to book.

Are you referring to discounted rooms, or all room availability? There are a limited number of discounted rooms and they have booked up pretty fast, but is there no availability even at the regular rate?

Mostly I'm referring to discounted rooms... that's what I normally ask for... but even rack rates are gone for certain resorts.... especially the Universal resorts, they are totally booked at RP and HRH. We were thinking about heading over there for the last two nights, but only if we get FOTL access.

We just booked yesterday, 5/2-5/7. Totally spur of the moment and our third trip this year. We wanted POP (3rd trip, gotta economize!!!) and got it for the AP rate, all nights, no problem. I had figured we'd have to settle for one of the all stars due to POP's poularity and newness, but was happily surprised. Had no idea others were having such trouble booking for that week.

Hey! We might be at Pop that week also. ;) If we can't get switched over to POFQ or CBR. Normally I don't like splitting our stay because it's a pain to repack and move, but we might have to at this point.

Pop is a fun resort, you'll enjoy it! ::yes::

I tried booking using Discount code for my upcoming trip and there were little to no water views available at moderates. I think my only option was POR. No pool views at AKL either. However I was able to book water view at CSR w/out discount codes. I know doesn't save me any money but I'd rather be guaranteed to have water view then risk a possible upgrade when I get to Disney.

I never ask for water view at a moderate... we keep our curtains closed because I always feel people are looking in as they walk down the hall. The only time we open them is when we leave for the day.

Erika- I hate when people look in too! One time I looked up and saw 2 kids just staring into our room. They wouldn't leave either. They seemed to be there every time we were in our room. I finally told them to just go away.

Anyway, we too had a hard time finding discounted rooms this year. This is our fifth consecutive trip to WDW during late April/early May and this is the first year we've had a problem. We originally wanted the Poly, then tried for CSR and the last choice was POFQ. I'm thankful we even got that.

We got POFQ from next wednesday for 14 nights. It was between that the Poly and Beach Club. In the end I decided I would prefer the Beach Club but it was too late - no rooms left. I am guessing this years flower and garden festival is very popular hence limited resort availability.

Same here... we originally were going to book WL again because we loved our stay there in January. But those ap rates got grabbed up really fast! So then we decided to just do a moderate and stay more nights. In the end I'm happy about it... it's more time in WDW. ;)

I posted earlier about staying 1 night at POR then moving to the POLY for 6. I'm going to call tomorrow morning and try to switch that night to the POLY and get whatever they have for that night. Hopefully I can still get the Disney Visa rate or the summer resort rate for a lagoon view. When I checked regular rates, the only rooms available were a lagoon view or lagoon view concierge. It's going to cost us more, but we think it will be worth it to save the time.

FYI - The last week of April is school vacation week for NH and other northeastern states. That may be why you're having difficulty. We are part of the "problem" as we will be there then :)
