CAN YOU USE ANY POOL AT ANY RESORT?

20 DAYS AND COUNTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

No, you can only use the pool at the resort you are staying at, or its sister resort.

The sister resorts include Yacht and Beach Club and PO-R or PO-FQ. Y&B share the themed pool and have quiet pools of their own, but you may use any of those if you are a guest at either of those resorts.

PO-R and PO-FQ each have a themed pool and PO-R has several quiet pools, of which you may use any, if you are a guest of either of these resorts.

We are staying at the ALS MOV in Sept & our friends are at the CBR. I asked the girl at cro if we were allowed to go over there & swim & she said we could go to any hotel to swim that we wanted. It's not that big of a deal but we were hoping to get to spend some time together.

Just be prepared -- at some resort pools (especially Stormalong Bay at the BC/YC) they check your resort ID. If you are not staying at that resort, you are not allowed to swim.

If you have friends staying at a particular resort and you are their guests, I don't think it would be a problem. The only place you might run into this as an issue is at YC/BC. I have seen them check IDs and ask people to leave, there. But, I don't think you would have a problem at CBR.

About 10 years or so, Disney advertised that you could swim at any of the pools but some have become so popular that they discontinued that... it was right about the time they added many new rooms with the introduction of the Value Resorts and Coronado Springs.

Not sure who "she" is at CRO but that is completely false. Unless things are extremely busy they usually make an exception and allow people to have a few guests at their pool (like you and your friends swimming at each other pools). But, pool hopping is not a benefit of being a WDW guest. It was a benefit of DVC ownership however even that is now facing new restrictions. AKL was never included and with the opening of the BCV SAB is no longer on the pool hopping list. I would suspect security for everyone at SAB will be much tighter.

My daughter and I were walking past the Polynesian pool last week when she mentioned she'd like to swim in the pool (we were staying at CBR). The lady behind us heard my daughter's comment and said we should - that no one would notice or mind.

It's for just that reason that I won't stay at a monorail resort. If I'm paying those resort prices, I want to know that the pool is reserved for resort guests. I don't mind people walking around, using the restaurants, shops, boats or bikes. But, I do mind the pool - I don't want to compete for space with non-resort guests. When we stay at a deluxe, it's either the Yacht or Beach Club since IDs are checked. I wish Disney would do this at all the resort pools. I wish they would ask for credit card numbers for the Cindy's breakfast. :)
