Can you check in the night before (get your boarding passes) and drop off you luggage in the morning?

Thanks :)

The airline check in desks are only open from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm each day. You must check in during that time on the day you leave the resort.

You can't check in for your flight too many hours before. It varies by airline but we tried to check in early at Kidani in March so we could go to a park and then come back and get ME later but their computer system wouldn't allow them to check us in that far in advance. I would find out from your airline how early they will allow it. We ended up storing our luggage with the bell desk, going to the park, then the bus back to Kidani to check in for our flight and check our luggage right before we got on ME.

I was shocked to find on the day of our departure that the hotel had done check in for us!!!! And it was awesome because I woke up that morning and remembered that I had forgotten to do it! When we opened our door, our boarding passes had been printed by the WL and hung on our door...not sure if that's uniform procedure now but it has never happened to us before. :goodvibes

that's what happened with us too...we got a packet under the door while we slept, detailing room charges and it had our boarding passes etc all done! then we just walked out stuff down to RAC and left it....couldn't have been easier!

This is happened for us as well. This was in Oct 2010 and we stayed at POR.

It should be noted you should NOT do check-in the day before, except with the whole SW thing.

If you do, you will be locked out of the system and cannot use RAC the next day. It is another wonderful perk the resorts provide.

Wow! how in the heck does that happen? Anyone know if that's something new?
Sounds great! :)

What do you mean by the "whole SW thing"? SW as in Southwest airlines? We are flying Southwest in Oct for the first time. What do I need to know?

Refresh my memory - how does the resort airline check-in service work re: baggage charges?

Last time, we flew AirTrans and were planning/hoping to upgrade to first class at the airport (which gave us no bag charges, compared to $25/bag otherwise). So, we had to carry our bags with us to the airport check-in counter, upgrade and then give them the bags. (We didn't want to check in at the resort and have to pay the $25 per bag.)

This time we are flying Delta and I have the Delta Visa card so we get first bag checked for free. Do we just provide this information to the resort when doing the check-in and the bags are no charge? Thanks!

We always fly Southwest and I have no idea what this poster is referring to, other than the fact that SW allows you to check in 24 hrs in advance on line. Like I said, we only fly SW so I don't know if this is exclusive to SW or not.

I think the pervious poster is referring to how southwest does seating on their flights. Instead of being assigned a seat, it is open seating. This means whoever boards first gets the pick of their seats. When you board is determined by when you check in (for regular travelers). (Those who are business travelers, who purchase early bird checkin, or have special needs get to board first.) So it is to your advantage to check in with southwest as early as possible in the 24 hour period.

OH! That is good to know!! Thanks!

So, with 24hour check-in, will the resort check you in? We leave at 10am on a Sunday, do I need to go down to the desk and have them do on-line check in at 10am on Saturday?

Or will they automatically do it for me?

Amazing! Very cool!

I'm wondering the same thing...I have a United Visa, and will be flying on United, so I'm not charged for bag fees. Will I still be able to use resort check in, and not pay the bag fees?

Yes, RAC is part of BAGS and has nothing to do with the resort. It is just like curbside check-in, just 30 minutes from the airport.

Not sure what our question is, but that statement is correct. BAGS is an outside company that performs that service.

Every Airline I have flown on lets you check in 24hr ahead of time. Although I do have a connection (flying American) and it might be 24hrs from your last connection so in that case the desk will be closed as I leave Houston at 2:40pm.

I think what CrabbyPatty was asking was What is RAC & BAGS???
