Resort Airline Check-In Desk Update

Does anyone know how to get (petition) an airline added to the participation list? I've been waiting for AirTran to be part of the list ever since this service started and I'm bummed to see it is still not participating.

Disney contracts with BAGS, Inc. to provide Resort Airline Check-in. The good news is that AirTran is already on the BAGS, Inc. website as participating airline (and AirTran has been there for several months). Unfortunately for AirTran passengers flying to Orlando, AirTran is still not on Disney's list.

Those of us who aren't directly involved can only speculate about the reasons for the delay.

You can write the three businesses that are involved — Disney, AirTran, and BAGS, Inc. — but I don't know how much good it will do. The answer is no until the answer becomes yes.

What happened to Northwest being a participating airline. I'm flying on Northwest in December and was told when I booked my Disney package, that Northwest was a particating airline.

Also, note that this thread was stared over a year ago. Post #1 was accurate at the time, but Northwest Airlines subsequently joined Resort Airline Check-in.

Thanks for all the answers of particating airlines. I didn't even notice the year on the earlier posts. I did look at the month and day, pretty funny that it was exactly 1 year difference. Thanks again.

Yes.

As a WDW resort guest, you are allowed to use Remote Airline Check-in (RAC) on your check-out day, regardless of what transportation you will use to return to the airport.

Of course, a guest can only use RAC if his or her airline participates with RAC (which United does), and the scheduled flight departure time allows the guest to check in no earlier than 12 hours before scheduled flight departure, and no later than 3 hours before scheduled flight departure.

Even if OKW doesn't have RAC, all you need is your ID and resort ID to use the service at any other WDW resort. I don't know what the official Disney line on this is, but the people working the check-in desk can't tell which resort you're in... and the desks are conveniently located out front.

Perhaps they can, but they are really more interested in checking your government ID, as they well ought to be. A resort card is a resort card. It's not up to Bags, Inc. to determine which resort guests are eligible to participate beyond a KTTW card, just as it's not up to the resort to determine a guest's eligibility to check-in remotely or whether they may be on a no-fly list. The point is, people will likely be able to utilize RAC regardless of their resort as long as they have a KTTW.

I don't know how I missed this thread before I went to Florida, but I did. When I read in our Caribbean Beach pamphlet that airline check in was offered, my daughter and I were excited to see that we could check in our luggage and get our boarding passes, only having to worry about returning the rental car at the airport without having to juggle all our luggage. Our downfall was check out was 11:00 and our flight not until 7:45 that night. We planned to spend our last day at DTD and had even brought an empty suitcase for all the treasures we planned on buying. We returned to the resort around 2:00pm to do the airline check in only to find it is only open until 1:00. No where were the hours stated in the brochure and we did voice our dismay to the manager although at that point we knew we would be doing our juggling act. The manager told us the hours were published in the Magical Express brochure and had a hard time understanding that we did not get that brochure because we were not doing ME. She even offered to get us a cab although we had a rental car! She did say that she would make sure the CBR pamphlet was updated to include the hours, but I'm sure they print millions at a time. Maybe it will be updated by the next time I go.... oh well, live and learn. At least I was able to get two of my grandaughter's Halloween costumes.

That's odd... last time I checked, the times were printed on the information pamphlet left in each room. I wonder if they have changed?

I understand MCO is already having issues getting so many bags hours before the flight. There is a rumor that SW can't be added until these issues are addressed.

I wonder if that is why all four of our bags were lost in luggage la-la land upon our arrival in Philadelphia. Though they did arrive home the next day, we still don't know where they were.

This makes complete sense. Space planning between tenants and ops is constrained at most airports, MCO is probably no exception. When the measures of 8/10/06 were put in place, Southwest was having a HUGE issue with baggage staging. As a result, passengers who arrived 3 hours in advance (as they were cautioned to do) weren't allowed to check baggage more than 2 hours prior to flight time.

Hopefully they will find space!
