Resort Airline Check In at All Star Movies

We used ME on our December trip, but our return flight out was so early in the morning that we didn't get to use the resort check in option. So, I have a few questions.

We will be at All Star Movies in June. Our return flight is at 10:30am, so I am guessing our ME pick up will be around 7:30am.

I was thinking we could do the check in at about 6:30am and then have breakfast in the food court before our pick up. Do you think that time frame would work?

Also, is there luggage service at the All Stars? (We stayed there once but didn't use any luggage assistance, since we just had one suitcase.) This time we will have lots of bags, kids, etc. - and we'll probably need help.

So, how does this work? Do I call bell services the night before and arrange a specific time for them to pick up our bags? Then, after they've collected our bags, do we all go to the airline desk to check in? Or, do we have to take our own bags up so we have them there with us to do the check in?

I'm sorry this is a bit rambling. I hope someone can figure out what I'm asking and give me some information! Thanks!

The Value Resorts have Luggage Assistance, not Bellhop services. They deliver and pickup luggage to and from the rooms on an hourly schedule.

Yes, in order to schedule luggage pickup from your room, you would need to call them the night before to schedule the pickup. Since you have a small window of time, I would call them early afternoon the day before. They will give you a time.

We usually have afternoon flights when staying at All-Stars and just told them they could pick up our luggage any time after 8:00 am because we were heading for the parks.

We've only used Southwest since Magical Express started, so haven't had an opportunity to use Resort Airline Check-In.

I would want to do the actual airline baggage check in myself to make sure nothing gets put in storage by accident and left there. This means waiting for Luggage Services to bring the baggage to the desired destination, namely the airline check stand. Given that, it is usually more convenient to bring down the luggage from the room myself on check out day when using ME.

The All Stars have (or used to have) a 45 minute advance notice to get luggage out of storage near the front desk. So having Luggage Services bring the luggage from the room and stor it for awhile and you do the airline check in a few hours later is not the most convenient either.

Some good advice above... definetly call the day before to set up the appointment. Just remember that just because your appointment is at x:xx doesn't mean they will actually be knocking on the door at that time. They work just like DME... making multiple stops.

When they come to pick up your bags, you do NOT need to be in the room. Just leave the bags inside, and near the door. They will come and pick up your luggage and take it to the front. When you're ready to check them in, just head over there, claim the bags, and then head to the Resort Airline Check In Desk.

Thanks for all the great information!

you are flying SW? I was told that Southwest doesnt do ME on departure, I mean yeah the resort can get your bags, but you have to take them yourself on the bus and get them yourself and check out at the SW counter... it's like not having magic express at all on departure, you just ride the free bus to the airport...

Im about to go! SO excited.... :hyper:
