Please help me make up my mind. I'm making myself a little nuts.

Currently I have May 2-9 booked at CSR. It will be me and my sister, both girls over the age of 55. And we both love CSR. However, we spend most of our time at Epcot and the Disney Studios. And I use an ecv to get around while at WDW. So I was thinking maybe of moving to Pop. But my sister, while ok with the switch, would not be thrilled with it. Then I thought maybe do May 2-5 at Pop and the rest of the time at CSR. Though I'm not thrilled with split stays, but am ok with them. Sis would be happier with not spending the whole trip at Pop. And then there is the weather concern with the skyliner.....

We are spending May the 4th at Disney Studios, so ease of getting there is a high priority, keeping in mind we do plan on buying the Premier Pass for that day.

Thoughts????

Did you know that each skyliner car will only take one person on an ECV? So you and your sister would be separated for the ride. As someone who's ECVed over to DHS and into Epcot, and a BCV lover, I'd recommend the BC or BCV if it's in your budget. Otherwise, I'd just stay where you are.

I don't believe her sister uses an ECV. I don't think I'd do a split stay, and the weather shouldn't be a big concern for the Skyliner in early May. If you have stayed at CSR before and think you can manage the bus system with an EVC, then stay there. For DHS and Epcot, it would be easier at Pop with the Skyliner, no need to wait for a spot on a bus, you just roll onto the Skyliner! Maybe try and rent DVC point for the Riviera or one of the Epcot area hotels??? It is within the 7 month window and your sister might go for a deluxe! If you can rent points from someone, it's about the same price as a moderate.

Renting points seems like a good idea. What about Swan and Dolphin with boat access?

I’m not a crazy parks person, so I like to spend a lot of time around the resort. With that in mind, too (as well as the ECV needs), I’d want to stay at, at least a Moderate - preferably somewhere with lots to do there.

You're right! I read the original post wrong, and made my recommendation that way. So one vote for staying where you are was based on wrong info. Switch if you can. I know that when DH is with me (he doesn't use an ECV) we're together.

Is CBR an option? Moderate resort, direct access to Skyliner hub, so you only have to board once for Epcot and once for DHS, and easy access to Riviera for some deluxe dining. In my opinion it is no more spread out than CSR. I would book that as the compromise if they have rooms available.

Have you looked into pricing at Swolphin? You could use the boat or the walking path to HS. Personally, I’d look at CBR if not interested at at swolphin. While weather is always a consideration with the skylines, I don’t k kw that May is too bad a month for T-storms as say summer/fall are?

Is there a specific reason that you limited your alternative option to Pop? We never find a Split-stay as a planned option in advance. The need to pack-up and move tends to waste too much time for us.

I would also recommend looking at Swan and Dolphin. Great resorts, great location and you can either walk/use your scooter to either park or take the boat, eliminating the need for the Skyliner altogether if you don't want to use it. I stayed at CSR with a friend who used a scooter and the bus situation was a a nightmare.

I'm not looking at CBR because I know there are no elevators and I'm not sure what I'd do with the scooter if we were put on the top floor. I love both Swan and Dolphin but they are around $400 a night that week.

Ugh I like csr but have not stayed there with a scooter before. We do have a preferred room booked so that should get us at the first bus stop

I would book CBR; have the CM put a note about the scooter and then at checkin explain again. - I'm positive they'll figure something out for you...they must have some type of plan in place for this. We go to Disney often and almost always make a request and almost always get it (and this is for something very mundane compared to use of a ecv.)

I will say we stayed at CSR last summer with my mom who uses an ecv and we had 0 issues. I'd make sure you always get on at first bus stop but it was pretty smooth. - In my opinion I think less ppl who use scooters stay there due to the large layout and transportation, but that worked in our favor.

I have used an ECV at the parks for a while now. I would look at an Epcot area resort if it were me if it is at all possible in the budget. You can ride the scooter to both parks form there. For us, not having to worry about there being space on a bus for my scooter or the line at the Skyliner (Especially on a day like May the 4th) is well worth the extra money. Do either of you qualify for any of the discounts Swan and Dolphin offer?

For future trips, you might consider renting DVC. There are some drawbacks, like the fact that you have to plan far in advance and cannot change once you have booked, but its typically the only way places like Beach Club or Boardwalk are in the budget for us.

The stop at the tower/ lobby area is stop one, but its the last one picked up. Stop 2 in Casitas is first picked up.

Yes the Dolphin is currently sold for you dates at this point, and the Swan rate is $377 per night.
