Can anyone advise we would like to try a on site deluxe resort DW has restricted mobility and DS age 14 is a very picky eater and like to have his own space (TV etc) I would value any advice as best resort to choose for dining options and rooms for those with disabilities :confused3

Try looking at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs - they are both deluxe resorts and have larger accomodation with cooking facilities. They have studios (2 double beds or 1 double and sofa bed) which come with a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, toaster etc) or 1 bed villas (1 king bed plus sofa bed in lounge) with full kitchen. These might be better than a regular hotel room as you could have some meals in the room.

All Disney resorts/hotels have handicapped accessible rooms with wider doorways, roll in showers etc.

Depending on when you are looking to go, you can get around 40% off thse 2 resorts plus free Disney Dining Plan.

Hi. Not sure how much info I can give as I've only stayed at 1 Deluxe Disney Hotel and that was Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think all Disney accommodation have rooms for people with disabilities, but I think you have to phone disney direct to book these rooms. I have had health issues myself and have always asked for rooms with the least amount of walking. I would also telephone the hotel directly the day before checking-in just to confirm my request. I think most of their hotels have lifts, ramps and automatic doors for wheelchair access etc.
We are a larger family of 6, so we have always had 2 connecting rooms which gave us 2 tv's, bathrooms etc. If your a group of 4 or less, I'm not sure what options you would have, as most rooms sleep 4. So if you wanted 2 rooms it would cost a lot more.
We've eaten at nearly all the Deluxe resorts and find there is a huge selection of food choices at each resort, whether its counter service or table service.
I think one of the Magic Kingdom resorts are great because of the Monorail link to MK and Epcot
