If you were required to give a 90 day notice, how would you count the 90 days?
 
Unless it specified 90 WORK days I would just count 3 months from now.
 
90 days. That is what is specified. Not work days.
I didn't know if you could just count 90 days or if it should be month to month, as in Aug 22- Nov 22....

Good idea. Wording could be 'here is my resignation and 90 day notice" and then ask how they count it?
 
I would give notice and then once I acquired 90 stolen rolls of toilet paper, printer paper, post-it notes, highlighters, legal pads, and ink pens I would know it is time to go.

PS, the toilet paper is horrible.
 
I would count back 90 actual, calendar days from the day you expect to be your last day of employment. Counting month-to-month won't work because there are more than 30 days in some months.

Do they seriously make you stay the 90 days? My boss usually lets people not come back after about 3 weeks, and just pays them out.

They sure dont give you 90 days notice before they fire you.

Yes, they do. If you do not fulfill the contract, you do not get benefits coming to you.

Ah, c'mon - was that smilie really necessary? The OP has a contract with her employer that requires 90 days' notice to terminate the contract (ideally, on the part of either party). That's very different from the typical "at will" type of employment under which most of us toil.

She asked for help, she got the help, now let's leave her alone (until November 23 or so ;)).

The more I think of it, I just don't know that I could stand hanging around 90 days if I were moving on to something, presumably, better!

90 days (every day of the week should count sunce they do not specify "business days") from the day you hand in your notice.

I am amazed that they'd want someone around for 3 more months who is resigning. Usually they want oyu out the door pronto!
