Anyone stayed at either hotel in Garden Grove?

We've stayed at both. HS in 2008 & 2009, RIGG in 2010. What do you want to know/compare?

We've stayed at Homewood 3 times and would go back. Always had great experience.

I think we'd return to Homewood over RIGG. Although the customer service was great at RI, we felt that it was run down a bit. The sofabed was terrible and there was a smell in our first room. We had to change rooms. HS had been newly remodeled when we stayed in 2008. I think we preferred the food at HS, but it was a while ago. :)

The HS has a shuttle now which would be another perk I'd enjoy.

I've stayed at Homewood 2 or 3 times. The rooms are nice, hopefully they have replaced the dirty carpet in the elevator since I was last there I think 2 years ago. Homewood does have a shuttle that runs every half hour but it also makes a couple stops at the hotels next door. You have to pay for a ticket.

We stayed at The Homewood Suites in May and really liked it!

-The rooms were nice and spacious, and we loved having the kitchenette.
-Free daily hot breakfast. M-TH they also have a light dinner and beer and wine.
-Target is across the street, and there are many restaurants close by.
-Shuttle to the parks for a small fee

Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We always take the shuttle but have never stopped at another hotel. It has always been direct from the hotel to the park. On a few occasions late at night you may stop at more than one hotel - especially another driver with the same company offers you a ride.

Is the Homewoods Suites is a safe enough area to walk over to Target?

We had a car, so we stopped there before checking in. But, I never felt un-safe in the area.

And regarding the shuttle, when we were there in May, it just stopped at our hotel, and the hotel next door( a Marriott, I think)

Target is directly across the street from Homewood. You'll be safe walking there, it's maybe 500 feet away. You're safe walking there from Residence Inn on Harbor too.

Homewood on occasion will share their shuttle when nearby hotels' shuttles are having issues, such as Crowne Plaza, Marriott Suites. One time at the Disney return loading area, we took the Crowne Plaza shuttle back just because nobody else was boarding it and we were waiting. The driver offered us a ride back.

Janet Rose- depending on what you're needing from Target, there are restaurants right in the Homewood parking lot. Joe's Crab Shack, Red Robin and Oggi's are there and there's a restaurant in the Marriott Suites - Starbucks there too, and an Italian one in the Hyatt right next door. We like Oggi's menu and often do take-out there and I'm sure you can google all the menus online.

We are big fans of Oggi's too. We go there at least 2-3 times per visit. Love chicken vodka pasta. Sooooo good!
