Reserving a Cash room

OK, I have few questions about reserving a room on a Cash basis using the DVC discount. We will be going to WDW next spring break. We want to stay on points but want to reserve 1 night (Sat) on a cash basis. Can we reserve this day before the 11 month window opens? Second question. If we do have to wait until 11 months, does it have to be at out home resort? Or would we have to wait until the 7 month window to book a cash room at another resort? Hope this makes sense....

Okay....

No, you cannot book a DVC room on points or cash until 11 months out.

At 11 months, you can book with cash at ANY DVC resort whether you own there or not. It does not have to be your home resort.

I want to add that just because cash may be available, it doesn't mean that the discount will be. I have added a extra day twice and neither time was the discount available.

In January , I booked a 1 bedroom BWV for the first week of June on cash with no discount available. With advice from the Dis boards , I called 2-3 month to ask if a discounted room was available. I have been told no every time , until this week. A room was available with the discount and they linked it to my points reservation .

I wasn;t counting on the discount , but I didn't want to pass it up if it became available either.
