Reserve Orlando 3rd Party Ticket Seller Warning

Well, I kind of thought one recommended by Touring Plans would be reputable.

Yeah, I can't blame you for that. I did come here to check out boardwalk before I used them (they were the lowest option in TP last trip) but I would expect that TP is vetting the sellers they endorse. It's surprising to see one with, as someone else termed it, funny business. That policy is blatantly bad.

My comment was related only to the post I quoted:

There are many reputable "hassle-free" resellers.

Sounds like your beef is with Touring Plans.
Not really.

And I got your point. I'm just saying that I assumed it would be safe.

My goal was to warn people. That's all.

I understand they're just holding and earning interest. By waiting until 60 or 30 days they're only enraging highly engaged customers. 35 and 65 would make everyone happy.

It wouldn't make me happy. If I buy tickets, I expect to have them pretty much immediately. I don't want to wait until a few days before I need to book fastpasses and then have something go wrong.

That's a seriously shady way to do business.

Buried in the FAQ on the Disney World product page:

That's absolutely silly. Email Touring Pans and let them know. This goes directly against their advice.

How is that “buried”??? It’s on the product info page under faq. Easy to find. Right there.

Nothing shady or hidden.

If people don’t read the faqs for a big purchase I don’t understand how we can blame the company.

Pardon me for expecting them to operate the same.

I'm not "blaming" the company. I'm not saying they did anything illegal. I've requested a refund and am waiting.

Sometimes this freaking board.

And I did go looking. And I did miss it.

Pardon me for failing where you so obviously would have succeeded.

And IF I had to suck up the big loss, I'd put on my big girl panties and deal with it because I own my mistakes.

If I didn't, I wouldn't have subjected myself to the crap I get on the DIS and tried warning others not to make the same error.

I am glad to hear you got your refund. It's not a reseller I've seen so for, I wonder if they are new to TP's list? No idea honestly, I could have easily missed it before. Just wondering out loud (so to speak)

I do think it's odd their policies are different than the other resellers, even if they put them on there somewhere. I'm not sure I would have thought to go looking to see that their policies are different either. I would have assumed that they are just like all the other resellers and sent the codes out right away. I would have been in the wrong to assume, I fully admit that but wouldn't have stopped me from doing it. It's pretty hard for a company to go out there and compete with all the other resellers when you put yourself at such a disadvantage. You aren't going to be getting much business, are you? All pretty curious, that's for sure.

Right, wrong or otherwise, not everyone reads every single line of fine print. I think it's the point of OP's post. Just to point out this folks are different. Right?
You may not agree but I do find it questionable (not wrong or shady, but questionable) that they are different in their policies and they don't do a better job of pointing it out. It could be right better business practice to put it right on the product page and not on a FAQ page. I mean, someone would have to know to have a question to go read that page. Do you really think everyone buying tickets would even know to have a question about when they'd get the code?
