Reservations with credit card

We decided to move our trip up to January! Yay! We haven't booked the resort/dining plan JUST yet bc we want to make sure DH's job is clear. But, I want to go ahead and start making our dining reservations. If I put in my credit card info to hold the reservation, will I be charged to cx or change it if it is before 48 hrs? Or will it charge me to hold the reservation at all? We are planning for 1/16/-1/22!!!

Also, when I book the resort with my dining plan, will it update to that or how does that work?
