Reservations? We don't need no stinking reservations, we do it TODD'S way! COMPLETE

I cannot believe he got in with no reservations! He must have a horseshoe up his ****!

I'm glad you had a good meal at Tony's. It just might make me try it again. The last time I ate there the food had been obviously sitting under heat for a while. The fish was old, and the salad was limp. While I enjoyed the theme of the resturaunt , the food left a lot to be desired. I also feel your pain about the heat during your stay. Because I usually take my niece and nephews (they won't miss any school) the last 3 visits have been in August. Nothing like 85 degrees at midnight during EMH to push you into heat stroke!!! Great reviews as always. Thanks for such a great job.

I've only been away from the internet for a few days and I've missed all of this? I'm caught up now though! I love your reviews so much - I think you need to go to Disney at least once a month to report back! I've been waiting for this no ADR review since you'd originally suggested it and I'm not disappointed. How lucky can you get?? It isn't even summer yet and to hear about the heat makes me nervous for our trip in August! But we'll make it work - the movie sounds like a fantastic idea (as well as the pool and drinks!). Great review!

Ok, I bow to Todd! :worship: Wow ...

Our last trip to Tony's in '08 wasn't a great experience but I love Lady & The Tramp so we are trying it again this year for lunch. Curious about the flatbreads on the menu. I have never really cared for their red sauce so I try to stay away from the spaghetti although Todd's did look good! Not a shrimp fan so the other pasta didn't do much for me. Glad you had a good meal and that I already have an ADR there so I don't have to change anything around!

What shocks me is the first time we went they said no availability but the second time we went they took us no problem...that happened at the Plaza a few years ago. I guess persistance pays off?

eating crow for dinner sucks !! :lmao: He really makes the whole "getting up at 5 am to be ready for the 6 am go time" look foolish, doesn't he ?

I'm kind of intrigued though by Tonys.... 2 places we haven't gone yet that we're thinking of trying are Ohana's and Tony's. So you hated Ohana's ?? :confused3

You go tthat right! I liked Ohana, the food was pretty good but then again I ate the salad, lo mein and veggies and the dessert and he tried everything and didnt like it. I would go back but he wont.

Todd just amazes me!:worship:;)

Yep, the F&W schedule comes out in July! Last year we had ADR's for dinner just about every night so we went very light on the F&W stuff. We want to do the exact opposite this time. For sure we're booking a Frunch or two and we're hoping for a good signature dinner event or two. We'd be happy snacking around the world every night for dinner!:goodvibes

He amazes me sometimes too! I cannot wait until July! I think we are going to do TS dinners, mostly signature, every night and all the F&W in the daytime. One night for HS and 3-4 days at MK and the rest is reserved for Epcot. I might re-tool things because I need more Epcot dinners so we can watch the concerts.

I'm not showing this report to Geoff, he'll be convinced we never have to make another ADR :rotfl:

And for DTD, what about Raglan Road? We're kind of in love with the place.

Please dont let my husband ruin Geoff :lmao: Raglan Road wasnt a good one for us and I was talking to Todd about it last night and his idea was to try Sanaa...it has been on my list since it opened but the menu scared him off. When I asked if he was sure it would be ok his response? I think I can handle it, if not I will get us in somewhere else.....yeah, I think I need to maim him a bit

i kept trying to move our Yak and yeti's reservation half and hour later and couldn't. the restaurant was half empty! they told me they leave about half open for walk ins!!
it's a great restaurants. ribs were good, cream cheese wontons for dessert yummy!

Isnt that nuts? I loved the ribs at Y&Y, they are to die for!

Awesome Tony's review! Now I definitely need to add it back in the rotation! Maybe we will try for some of Todd's luck this fall... for an early early supper one night....
Although I really want to try to do some Food and Wine - it will be my first time - but with DD for a short trip hmmm? will have to play it by ear...and get all of y'all's expert help!
hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday...

Thank you! We have had luck early and some luck going later so I guess it is just the time of year we went? When we did F&W with our nieces that was hard because they were 3 and 9 and didnt understand why we had to stop and eat every 5 feet :rotfl2:

Great reviews Nicki! I haven't commented yet, but I've been reading them all! Can't believe Todd can get into any restaurant he wants! :worship:

Cali Grill looks so amazing, I would love to go there one day!

And I've never been interested in 50's Prime Time til I read your review, it looks SO good! :cool1:

Mmm, those Godiva chocolate martinis are yummy, I always get a couple on each trip!:)

I am so glad you are here! You should try to get into Cali Grill, the food is just amazing. 50's is delish too, very good comfort food. I never had a Godiva martini before but you know I will drink plenty of them in Oct!

Oh, I forgot to mention about the Godiva Dark Chocolate Martinis, we had quite a few with dessert this past trip and the best one hands down was at Kouzzina!:thumbsup2

That is a very good thing to know as we have dinner booked for Kouzzina in Oct because you and Johnny raved about it and Karin and Tom just love it there.

Great reviews, as always...so sad its going to HOW LONG until your next set of reviews. :sad2:

Me too babe....next reviews will start when we get back from our Oct trip, we are going 20-30 and I will probably start them the week of Oct 31. I am leaving the computer at home on that trip too. Still trying to get up there in Sept when Kathy and Mark are there but I cant say for sure that is going to happen.

Nicki !!!If Christine thinks not going to 50's Prime Time will stop me misbehaving:rotfl2:All she has to do is take pix :lmao:I'll do the misbehaving !!

Nicki I LOVE Raglan Road , have been there 4 times and always had a great meal !!Service has ranged from fair to excellent with more on the excellent side ! I have had the Chowder twice the Mighty Grill and the stuffed pork , as for desserts OMG to die for !!!

Rosie you are trouble with a capital T babe! I would love to be a fly on the wall when you guys are at WDW! Sounds like our bad meal at RR was a fluke, maybe we should revisit it?

Do you think they'd make me one for breakfast?:rolleyes1

Now that would be cool!

I will wait and save my "bow" for Todd when we see you in four months. I CANNOT believe he got you into Tony's. That's another restaurant we have not been to in forever (I'm thinking 2003 was the last time); we always preferred lunch over dinner -- smaller portions and better service. I'm thinking perhaps we need to go back.

And the onion rings at the movie theater. I'm sitting here with an upset stomach (had it all day as did Romeo) and I'm drooling over those darn onion rings.

YAY! Just 4 months and we will be Starbucks junkies again! Funny, we like dinner over lunch at Tonys

You and me...we got to get onion rings when you get to my Island! Whats wrong with you guys? Tummy ache because you miss me so much?

We were supposed to go to Tony's for dinner on our last night and I dropped it to hang out in SAB instead. I wish we had gone, that pasta dish looks awesome! Shrimp, asparagus and pasta- you can't get any better than that.

50's PTC looks very good too. I love the menu there but we had like an hour wait last year and our waitress was pretty much non existent. We'll have to give it another try though. I love that they offer the mom's best sampler now.

That pasta shrimp dish was phenomenal! Todd wished he ordered it too but it was so large we were able to share without a problem. 8 humongous shrimp! In the past we have had to wait at 50's but this time it want bad at all and looked very slow. The bar was busier than the waiting area by the check in stand.

These reviews absolutely crack me up!!! :rotfl: I keep re-reading them because they are just too funny!

Great job! :thumbsup2

Thank you! The sad thing is we are totally like this in real life..just ask KatMark

:rotfl: I really REALLY thought Todd had finally met his Disney reservations match! Can't wait to see what surprise he has up his sleeve (an ADR, perhaps??)!!

Oh this one is a good one...trying to finish up our last day reviews today

I miss you more than you can imagine. Tummyaches were from something we ate and the fact that our air conditioning is not working and it was HOT on Monday and yesterday.

It is exactly 120 days till we are on YOUR Island again. :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I cannot believe he got in with no reservations! He must have a horseshoe up his ****!

Maybe, but just for WDW dining reservations :rotfl: He was lucky this time but I dont think his luck will hold out much longer!

I could eat that salad, bread and that shrimp pasta dish all the time, it was excellent! Mama Melrose was a place that we had the heat lamp experience but that was only the first time, the other two times it was much better. Thank you so much for reading them!

At least you are here now! I would love to go to WDW once a month, that would be my heaven! The heat was the absolute worst part of our trip, I never melted so much and I live in SWFL for 21 years! At least we live on the Gulf so we get a very strong breeze and if there was some rain that week it would have helped. The one thing that was ok was no humidity at all, just dry heat.

Just hung up the phone with "ROMEO" and he said the tummyaches were NOT from missing you. If it was from missing you, we would have "heartaches."

Ah crap...so now I am all teary eyed....tell him I love him too and he is Nicki sized-the perfect height for me to hug

Our first full day, Friday! Yay! We were up early, since we have no plans I have no idea what to do for breakfast. No worries, someone knows what he wants for breakfast.

Me: Do you want to go to the food court?

Todd: Nah, I feel like Tonga Toast.

Me: Are you insane? We do not have reservations, we will never get in. If you wanted Tonga Toast you should have let me know and I would have made a reservations...(more babbling...more theatrics)

Todd: First of all how would I know that I wanted Tonga Toast today? And B they have it at Capt Cooks remember? So if we cant get in lets just eat at the CS...jeez, you call yourself a Dis-Queen??

Me: I dont like you anymore

We drove to the Poly because it was much faster, all the time I am grumbling about what a waste this is and blah blah blah...you get the gist. All the time he is just playing with the radio chanting "Tonga Tonga Tonga"....I think he knows which buttons to press by now and he does such a good job at it!

Parking lot is empty and we self parked and walked into the Poly. The lobby wasnt busy at all, it was around 9am-ish and the upstairs was very lively, mostly for Ohana.

We walk up to the podium for Kona, all the while I am a huge disbeliever so I am headed towards the stairs that take you to Capt Cooks......and Todd smiles at the girl, asks if there is a table for 2, sorry no we do not have reservations, sorry no we do not have a dining plan. Oh you can seat us right away? Hey Nic, they can seat us right away, does that work for you?

That little son of a gun.....well thats not what I was thinking but I cleaned it up for you :rotfl:

We just walked, no wait, I skulked and he swaggered, right into breakfast at Kona Cafe. Well I just dont know what to say....so I say:

Oh stuff your Kona in a sack mister and just get me a pressed pot before I have to find a place to hide the body

Truth be told, I knew we were going to get in as soon as I saw the place, it was pretty much empty...but I wasnt going to tell him that

We shared a pressed pot and it was fantastic. I almost caved and bought a bag for $40 but I restrained myself. Anyone ever buy this and it is as good as what they serve you? I might treat myself in Oct.

DisneyMay021.jpg

The Titan of Tonga Toast loved his breakfast, real bacon too, not that flimsy plastic like stuff you get at buffets and CS places. I do not like the TT as it is very sweet and too sugary for me but he ate it all and was very happy

DisneyMay023.jpg

I had the Kahuna Platter with bacon (gave to Todd), ham (gave to Todd), sausage (very good!), skip the french toast and added an extra pancake...I asked for the butter pineapple stuff on the side but they forgot. I also asked for the same batter as the large order of pancakes but they said no. When you get the Kahuna platter they are plain pancakes and not the ones with the nuts mixed in the batter. Still very good but the regular order of Macadamia Nut Pineapple Pancakes are much better. The eggs are to die for and the potatoes are nothing to get excited about.

DisneyMay024.jpg

We shared a fruit cup but the fruit wasnt that good...very hard and not ripe.

DisneyMay022.jpg

With a TS breakfast under his belt and a walk in at that we strolled out of the Poly and then I had to be a brat and ask, Whats next? I swear if I was a puppy I would be a yapping poodle....

The weather was a big factor, it was freakin hot! Where was the nice weather we had the day before? It was 95 and blistering now! Our idea was to go back to the resort for some pool time and then head over to DTD to see POTC 4. So excited! Lets go play in the pool!...wait what about lunch?

LOVING your reviews!! :lovestruc

About that presspot coffee...
Disney inspired me to go out and buy the SAME one they serve (the 8 cup...)
DH & I LOVE It, and use it everyday...it is especially perfect for two people.
Coffee comes out SO much better than the drip..

You have also inspired me to try Nine Dragons, and *maybe* the next trip AFTER the next trip that I take my dad, go ressie-less :hippie:

Great reviews!!!! Your husband sounds like mine in not wanting to make reservations and just walk up to everything. Of course with 5 people we are much harder to seat. I'd love an adult only no reservations trip. Walking along the river sounds lovely and romantic.

I once had a reservations CM tell me that 5 people was the hardest number of people to sit. I don't know if there is any basis to this :confused3, but he was quite insistent about it.

Add me to the list of those worried about an upcoming Fulton's dinner...

Same here!! I think I am going to cancel.....Bummer.....I have eaten their twice before..first time, excellent..2nd time..not so much :confused3

Was going to give it another try, but never mind!!

We are not going on the food plan this trip and I'm already stressed about it. I cannot imagine not have ADR's. But you have shown us that it can be done!
I take my hat off to you........

Nicki, Thanks so much for doing this trip report. It is so enjoyable and made a day up at the front desk just fly by!!!Thanks again Elaine

Just popping in to say BYE for a few days !!Lake George is calling !!! I promise to post some pix of the trip!! Of the 5 groups going each having 2 escorts , 5 escorts are my friends sooooo this should be a humdinger of a trip!!:rotfl2:T for Trouble signing off !!!!:rotfl2:

Ot has been said, but I gotta say it again, Todd is the Man :worship: I am very impressed with his mad dining skilz!

Thanks for listing the drink ingredients. I see many that i wish to try. Sorry the heat got to you so much. no fun at all. I can do heat-obviously since I live in Az-but Florida humidity heat is a whole different beast.

I just read your whole report and I loved it :thumbsup2 I can't wait for the last few updates. You two are HILARIOUS and I love how he keeps getting you into restaurants without reservations. They're pretty decent places too! I love the conversations you guys have - so funny! I honestly would love to go on this kind of trip. I would definitely be in your position.. always thinking about the next meal! :lmao:

As always, seems like I'm late to the party. But I just found your review last night and it is better than ever! Love reading your TR's. You and Todd are so funny.

Some of the meals you have had have blown me away. Your Shrimp PoBoy looked absolutely amazing. Your dinner at CG had me drooling all over the place. The pasta at Tony's is exactly what I would order. And that Chocolate Martini. . . . is it too early in the morning for one of those bad boys???????

Again, loving the pictures and the frivolity (is that right :confused3) of the discussions between you and Todd. Can't wait to see what is up next. :flower3:
