Reservations released in blocks

So I called Dvc member services yesterday to make a reservation for Lilos playhouse, 167 days out. There was no availability, but the guy was trying to make me feel better by telling me that they don't release all reservations at once, the example he gave was BOG. Turns out I got the rez and discount by calling the wdw rec number...go figure.

But has anyone else heard this? Perhaps this is an attempt to make it easier on non- planners (which we are not lol!)

My personal opinion is that you got the reservation because someone let one go at just the right time. I think the Rec number has access to the same database as the dining number, the play number, the style number, etc.

Sometimes reservations are held back for a specific purpose (finalizing party night park ADR times, waiting to finalize Candlelight Processional, holding on park hours, etc.) but as a general rule, I don't think they hold back blocks of reservations to make things fair for any particular group.

Secrets get out fast in this day and age and I think we would have heard a lot more reports of it.

I don't know if I'm that lucky! It was for two kids.

But I was wondering if they only released so many to Dvc....

I don't understand this post. Lilos Playhouse rarely sells out and can typically be booked on property. Why are you excited to get it at 167 days out?
