I am planning a late May trip and the 180 day window is here. I have no idea where I want to be on each day yet. Is it neccessary to make reservations this early for everywhere or just Cinderella's?

The 180 days window is pretty new, so it'll take some time before we know its effect. Clearly, the character meals will go first. Cinderella's, however, may be in the same pack with the rest of them now, since its price has gone up significantly.

I made dining reservations about six weeks prior to our trip and was able to get everything we wanted; i.e., LeCellier, LTT, O'Hanas, etc. Cinderella's might be another story, though.

since it is new we don't know I just made ressie's for CM in march for breakfast and got what I wanted

Make reservations.

You can always change them later if times are available and you want to change.

You only REALLY need them when you can't get them.

Character dinners, Le Cellier, "event" dinners (Hoop de Doo, etc.) and Cali Grill I would make now and then you can change later if you need to and it's possible.

We are also going in May and we already made our reservations. We got all the places we wanted and the times we wanted. If we hadn't made them I would have worried about it until we did.

DH and I made our reservations for Concourse, Le Cellier for 2 nights, Sci Fi, 50's Prime Time, and Kona.

Can't wait to go!!!!

Make them now. Especially the character meals. How easy it will be to get your ADR's will also depend how many people you are dining with - the more in your party the harder it can be. I called exactly 180 (+10) and did get the places I wanted to eat (CM, CP and CRT). I was also the CM's first call of the day. For CRT, I wanted the earliest time possible and the earliest for my party of 6 was 9:55 AM on the day I requested. I wanted to be in the first seating, but I'm not complaining - I'm just happy to be in for my DD's sake! :cheer2:

Like a previous poster stated, you can always make changes! I would definitely make your ADR's for the places that are most important to you and your family, especially the character meals. Good Luck! :flower:

I did my reservations for a trip in May last week, and some of the restaurants I had to pick a slightly later time than I had planned because time slots were already taken. (no big deal though, only about half an hour) So, I say you should get in your reservations as soon as you can decide on restaurants, to be sure you get into the ones you want. You may be able to wait a bit longer if you have a small party, though. (we needed a table for six)
