Reservations necessary?

I've only made one Res so far, but got exactly what I wanted - 7 pm at Chef de France...

Next up, Boma...

:)

I'm 2 for 2 - Boma had exactly what I wanted, also.

I guess it probably helps that we are only a party of 2 - I wouldn't have the same ease of reservations with a party of 6, I'm sure...

Anniversary, here we come!

2 more hits...

Flying Fish at 5:30 one night and Prime Time for lunch!
Smores, here I come!!

Is everyone sick of me yet? Sorry to rub in the reservation success.

Okay - decided to cancel my Prime time res so my sweetie and I could enjoy Cinderella's Royal Table the first night, with the photo package, etc...

DONE!

:thumbsup2

A couple weeks ago, we had ADR's for H&V, the line to check in at the hostess stand was all the way to the water pond. The hostess shouted out - "If you don't have reservations, we are booked, please leave the line". About 90% left the line and we moved up to being 3rd in line to check in. Something to keep in mind when travelling without ADRs. This was June 17 at 6;15p.

This is my point, if you don't have a ADR, you are not going to eat a TS meal or it will be extremely late or early.

You're making these 40+ days out; try making some the week you are at WDW and see how successful you are... ;)

I had the same results during my visit in June as others have mentioned. I made ADR's a couple of months ahead of time, no problem. When some of our touring plans changed while were already at WDW, I could not get a decent ADR.

If you haven't yet made your reservations for Labor Day weekend, then you probably already are gonna be 'eating at odd hours". Because 9:30pm is what you're gonna be assigned at most decent restaurants. So, accept the late reservation - at least you won't starve...then as long as you're not at cancellation-policy restaurants...if you find something with an opening at 8pm, you can dine there....but on the other hand if everything's full, you gotta head for your 9:30pm reservation if you want to eat, even if that reservation is in another park.

I guess it depends on the time of year, but we got ADRs for whatever we wanted while we were there (late April/early May), and walked into Raglan Road and Boatwrights. We were a party of 2. I only made one ADR beforehand. I can imagine it would be harder at busier times.

JustBob, I'm so happy to hear you got all the ADR's you wanted. :goodvibes I think you are going to be very glad that you made them.

Have a fantastic anniversary trip, and please stop by the dining review board when you get home to tell us about your experiences. :)

Two good points: party of two and time of year. I was thinking that Labor Day weekend would be crowded. Now, after doing some checks, its doesn't appear to be a crowded time based on information from several resources. :thumbsup2
