Reservations mean nothing for entry? Answer: Post #47

In several FB groups, there are quite a few people (about 12 - 15) claiming to be CMs. They are saying that if you have a reservation for Oga's, Droid Depot or Savi's you are NOT guaranteed entry into SWGE.

They are saying (again, 12 - 15 different accounts) that CMs have just gone through training for SWGE and they were advised that reservations do not mean a person doing the experience plus their guest is allowed in SWGE.

Can anybody confirm/deny this with absolute knowledge?

If I'm not going to be allowed entry, then they are going to have to refund my money.

If you are denied entry, they will indeed refund or you can call 407-W-DISNEY and tell them you should not be charged because you were denied entry.
They can easily prove you were not there with a quick look at your Magic Band on your profile.

But how can they prove I wasn't there because I was denied entry? Is it up to the CMs to do something that will ensure the denial is in my profile?

i think what he is saying is that disney can pinpoint where you were using your magic band. i know this to be correct because when looking for some photos i was on the phone with a cm from memory maker and he told me literally everywhere i was for about a span of 5 or so hours, but only 2 attractions had photos and only 1 of those were a fastpass. the mb tells more details than most want to admit.

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW WDW IS HANDLING THIS. If this is the case, though, that’s different than what they did in DL the first day they opened with a virtual queue. We had an Oga’s reservation and were allowed in because of it.

Obviously WDW may be doing something different, but that would seem ripe for legitimate guest complaints.

If you have a party of three, the one person who is not participating at Savi’s may not be guaranteed admission with the reservation. I haven’t seen that confirmed, but I can see where it would make sense from a crowd control standpoint.

You are correct in your statement. That is policy for either experience. The only exception may be mom, dad, two young boys building droids and a toddler. Toddler can go in as they cannot sit outside by themselves and each boy may need assistance from mom and dad.

I did just go into several FB groups and I can confirm that people claiming to be CMs are saying exactly what OP said.

If you walk up and are denied entry, do not wait. Call 407-W-DISNEY immediately and tell them they should not charge you because you were not allowed into SWGE for the experience.
If you do not want to call them while on park time, call when you get back to your hotel or stop by guest relations on the way out.
If you are charged, dispute it with your credit card company. Disney cannot legally charge you for goods you were denied.

Question-were they referring to all three types of reservations? I am wondering if the droid and lightsaber reservations would be given a higher priority due to their cost than an Oga reservation which would just be the standard no show fee? I didn’t try to get a droid or Savi’s reservation-do those guests pay in advance or when they arrive?

I can kind of see refusing reservations backfiring on them if everyone who has a reservation descends on SWGE when it opens and just stays in the land until their reservation time is complete. I know there were some people who stayed all day during previews, so I can envision that happening on a larger scale when it’s open to everyone.

I will not be attempting SWGE until at least December, so I will have time to see how things pan out and adjust plans if necessary.

no idea how they track it, but Cms on the phone have said that you can go in 1 hour prior to reservation and are expected to leave when your experience is done. not sure how they would manage that or know who has been there that long. the entry yes. the exit no

unfortunately CM get told very little and often late, if at all.
I am right now asking a friend of mine that is coordinator for merchandise inside the land.
Last I was told is that if you have a reservation for any of the experiences you will be allowed in an hour in advance. They don't know yet how Savi or Droid will work with the plus one.
Also the "rules" change day by day when it comes to procedure

A FB member claims to be a CM with knowledge regarding SWGE procedures. Policy is opposite of DL. Opposite of what callers were told. Opposite of common sense. In what world is Disney going to turn away a guest who guaranteed a saber purchase.

Bus drivers are a much better source of information.

No way. 100% do not believe this. There is no way you'll be denied entry with a paid reservation to build a Droid or light saber. They will not loose that sell. 1000 CM can relay otherwise and I won't believe them.

I do believe it will be 1 builder 1 guest. No extra

A Facebook member can claim to be anything they want. All that can be said now is that If you are denied entry with a reservation, go straight to Guest Services and have the no-show fee negated.

No way are they going to essentially shut these places down because the reservation holders can't get in
