I am trying to deceide whether to go for 8 days with free dining Aug. 27th but I am afraid whether I will be able to make any reservations since I am planning so late mainly with the sit down restaurants. Has anyone had luck with reservations. Thanks
You could try calling Disney Dining and seeing if they have any openings. They'd be able to tell you better than any of us can (ie. availability at specific restaurants on specific days, they can tell you exactly what's open and when, when you call them). You don't need to have a ressie to make dining ressies through them, you can just use your phone number.
I agree. I made all my ADRs prior to booking my vacation. I made sure that my dates were available at the resort of my choice by looking online, then booked all my ADRs. I was willing to change my dates around, if I was unable to get acceptable ADRs. I then booked my vacation and started tweaking my ADRs.
I made my reservations about a week ago. You may not be able to get in EVERYWHERE, but if you are flexible in times, and places, I'm sure you'll be able to get in.
I have been making mine over the last few days and I scored a 6:30pm at Coral Reef ( the lady said you MUST take it, it has to be a cancellation).. The only place I was skunked was LeCellier, and she said I could get lunch..
We are going the 1st day of free dining for 9 nights. For a party of 6 as of today I can't get Le Cellier at all, Planet Hollywood only at 10:30, Chef Mickey only after 9, and Boma only after 830. So 4 of our top choices can't be done.....And forget scheduling park days and then selecting ADR's--I definitely had to take whatever I could get during normal dinner hours and I will have to plan the parks around them...this is definitely alot worse than last year.
You might have gotten ours! We decided to go to GG instead. we have never been and the food looked really good. I have actually had great success changing when I needed. I have everything we wanted. I would definatly give it a try.
Even though Le Cellier has been booked solid for all of the free dining period, I was able to get a dinner ADR for Sept. 12 last night. Keep calling!!
There are still ADRs to be had. When I called yesterday to try and change our Le Cellier ADR they still had some lunch available and and 2 dinner left, one for 2 and the other for 3. Keep trying!
I just started trying to make ADRs for our trip and am seriously thinking about cancelling the trip completely and doing it another time. Meals aren't the most important things, obviously, but I get frustrated with the fact that I have to be so structured because I have to pre book every meal and even then, if I want to eat at Le Cellier or Whispering Canyon I pretty much have to go at a time I don't really want because that is all that's available. The free dining is available to book until June but what would be the point to book in June because there won't be any good selection of ADRs left?
Things change on a daily basis. I would book whatever you can now and just keep trying. I know for people checking in on 8/26 the packages have to be paid in full by 7/12. I bet there will be a lot of people that booked hoping to take advantage of the promo that realize they can't swing it this year and will cancel at the last minute. So for sure call around that date. Also, we had a party of 4 and had to change it to 7. I was pretty much able to get everything I wanted except Le Cellier. With that one, I kept our original ADR and booked a table for 3 @ Rose and Crown for the same time. I'm just going to tell the family members joining us that I'm really sorry but that's just one I wasn't willing to give up and we'll meet up after dinner!
