Reservations easier to get now or just me?

We decided a day or two ago to head to the world in June since we have some time off and bought APs this year. (We know it will be hot and crowded but we are just going to take it easy and have fun.)

It is about 150 days out from my calculations and supposedly a very busy time. UG lists waits as 8s and 9s  But today I was able to get reservations at EVERY place I was interested in and had a wide choice of times. Even Le Cellier.

Maybe the DDP changes will be good after all.

Many folks speculated that one of the reasons for the changes for 2008 was to bring about that very result. They want the restaurants busy but not full-up weeks in advance.

With Disney eliminating the appetizer from the DP, I imagine they can shove more people through the restaurant in a day also now.

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining after making my ressies for June 24th through 28th. It was a breeze and I had lots of choice times to choose from. Definately a far cry from 05 when i was up at the crack of dawn and still ended up with awkward dining times

I just got off the phone with disney dining for our May trip-even though we are staying CL- I wanted to make some of our fav ADR's- I was able to get everything I wanted! Including a Le Cellier lunch and an Artist Point dinner and a Chef Mickey brkfst-all at the times I wanted! That has never happened to me before!!!!!

I'm wondering if they are expecting this and re-adjusted the seating window averages...

I was pleasantly surprised too! I just got off the phone and was able to book my July ADRs for all of the dates and times I wanted.

I had no problem making our reservations for our June trip. I got all the times I wanted or got them within 15 minutes of the time I wanted. I even got CRT for breakfast without getting up at the crack of dawn. I actually called at 10am PT and still got CRT for the exact time I wanted.

Interesting thread! I am liking what I am hearing. :goodvibes

I just booked for June. I got 8 out of 9 - but not Le Cellier for the night and time I wanted. They couldn't get us in until 8:50 on a Saturday night, so I switched to Tuesday. :thumbsup2

I made my ressies today for our May trip. I got everything I wanted and there were a tons of times open. Granted, I didn't do any of the really hard-to-get-in places, just Boma for breakfast, the Tea at Grand Floridian, Ohana and The Plaza.

I just made my reservations for the first week of March. Yep--just 50 days in advance for a spur of the moment trip and I had absolutely no problems getting a reservation for any place we wanted and even got a variety of times to choose from.

When I mentioned how surprised I was to the CM, she told me, "The only one that was even slightly an issue was breakfast at Ohana." And I got the exact time I was looking for anyway.

I was pretty tickled to not have to adjust my tentative schedule in the least. :thumbsup2

Hello,

On Monday I made my dining reservations for when we are there in July and I got exactly what I wanted and the times I wanted. This will be our third trip and the only time I had a problem was the first year when we went to CRT. I got in just not the time I wanted. Other than that we have never had a problem!!

I also made a couple of ADR's for my Feb/Mar trip a few days ago and I got into LeCellier for the first time at dinner(7pm). Everything I wanted I got, with multiple times availible around the times I asked for.
Hope it stays this way so I can walk up for a few last minute choices.

I think it is very easy. 2 nights ago I called and got every reservation at every time for our week stay and it was just 81 days out!

As a local I am never able to get adr's - mainly because I am not trying to book 150 days out. More like 3 to 5 days and by then all the DDP folks have reserved just about everything.

We are fortunate that we are only a party of two and do not have set requirements for meal times because we have to rely almost entirely on walk up availability. And that does not always happen.

It goes without saying that I would love to see the end of DDP altogether.

I like the both systems (the DDP and paying cash). Nice to see reservations. Personally, I won't do DDP any longer and will eat TS less. I can see their point of trying to serve less for more profits. Glad to see this is working to open up the places to eat.

Me too!!:) Everything I wanted ...only 1900 park fair was not EXACTLY what I wanted but it is for a bigger party my family and BIL and family ...I will call back to see if I can change that

I also think it's way easier! We are going the 1st week of April and I just called today. I was able to get every restaurant we wanted (including Le Cellier for 2 days), but not at the exact times. Good enough for me though! :)
