Still planning our first trip to DL. Planning on staying mon-fri to avoid the weekend crowds. I called disney for a quote to compare to our AAA prices etc. I could NOT get a reservation anytime soon, becasue the gal kept trying to sell me on a thursday thru monday stay instead! She insisted all the week days were full until april. I guess I thought if we were buying a package at the disney land hotel, with air and all that, we could get in on weekdays. This seems odd to me. Is there some secret to this? Or, is it just busy for some odd reason. She even told me that not too many locals have been coming on the weekends. Since Im tryng to avoid crowds, Im worried now. If the DLH is booked like this, there will be crowds like mad, right? HELP!

Hi there, We like you were having problems finding rooms for February. Have you tried the website Getawaytoday . My inlaws used them and several other people I know have used them, so we tried them and were able to book rooms from Sunday-Thursday when Disney said they couldn't.

Might be worth a try,
Kathy

Call 714-781-4400 ask for ressie and than ask for ext 4040 she will help you. That is who I use and she is greatttttttttttttt. She really goes that extra step to help you out.

good luck I know she will help you.

One tip is before you make a package ressie make sure you get all the fine print. Hotels charge you $100.00 canclelation fee if you cancel. I made a ressie and realized it was more expensive that way and they wanted to charge me the fee ( even though they hadnt mentioned that when I booked the package) and I argued it and finally got my deposit back minus $25.00. Just ask everything because after the next day you can not go back and cancel without getting charged and if you change your package at anytime for whatever reason and the cost drops lower they will charge a $25.00 no matter what the reason is.

Skylarr29 is exactly right. Be careful, I got charged that $100 once but it was still worth it (but really aggravating) since I got a better deal through Expedia. They don't have that cancellation fee if you book room only. I have not generally found the packages to save me all that much money. But when I have opted for a package I have always used Expedia which saved me way more and I could book the flight portion myself.
