Does anyone happen to know how long it takes to get a confirmation for a ressie using developer points? I was told it has to go through another division etc but it has been 3 weeks and still no confirmation and it is not online.:confused3

I would be calling them and having them email it to me or something that is crazy.

I made one two weeks back and no confirmation either. I called MS (actually for something else) and asked about it. Yes, developer points are processed apart from "regular" points and so are "off-screen". Problem is they have been overwhelmed b/c of so many recent sales/add-ons generating DP ressies. Since they are being handled manually, I was told they are being processed by reservation date so as to hopefully have spring/summer dates out first, and so on. I have a June trip, so I suppose I'm somewhere in the middle. Even though it's not in the system for us to view, MS can, so I'd suggest calling just for the peace of mind...

I made my reservation with developer points back in the middle of Jan and it took 3 calls to MS to see if is was processed. I still do not have a paper copy in the mail and I don't think I will every get one:confused3 , but I got an e-mail this week. The issue is that this is a manual process. And there are only a few people who can do this. When I called for an update in the middle of Feb there were still running 2-3 weeks behind from the day the reservation was made. There was talk that some of the people were pulled off this task to help with MS getting slammed for the 11 month christmas bookings. Also Back in Jan MS was only working 5 days a week.

You need to call MS and ask if your reservation has been "officially booked" do you have a reservation number. If so they can give it to you. Otherwise ask where are you in the pile to be done. And it is paper stack of reservations they have to work through.

Also you will NEVER see your reservation online that you made with developer points. All you might see is a point transfer out if you used some of your points to make the reservation.

This is the reply i got on wednesday after emailing them to find out what was happening with my booking with incentive points.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Member Services.

We are pleased you are planning a future visit by using your Incentive
Vacation Points. As this reservation is not booked under your
Membership, we have placed the inventory you have requested on hold and

have submitted your Incentive request for processing. Please allow
10-15 business days for your reservation to be booked by our Incentive
team. You may expect to receive a confirmation letter in the mail
within the next few weeks.
Thank you again for contacting us.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Have a Disney Day,

Mary, we made our reservation with Developer Points back in August and didn't get a confirmation until the end of October. It was frustrating, but it DID manage to finally get here. My opinion is that these developer points are more of a headache than an incentive.

I made my reservation with developer points on Jan 3-08 and i still have not heard back from Disney. Going to call Ms tomorrow.:hippie:

I used developer points to book a stay at the Grand Californian. I made the reservation in late January and received my paper confirmation in the mail during the middle of February. I was frustrated waiting for confirmation but was assured by MS that the reservation was solid at the time of booking. Also, I was able to call MS and get a confirmation number shortly before receiving my papers in the mail. Your confirmation using developer points never shows up online, even after you get your confirmation in the mail. I know it's irritating playing the waiting game but just try to remind yourself that these are free points for a free vacation and you will have peace of mind once you receive your papers.

It took me a month or so to get my confirmation.

Thanks so much guys.

It is our first anniversary and I want to make some special plans (private dinner and dessert party) and i need my confirmation to make these plans:confused3

do you think if I called MS they would be able to get a number for me. I can try to explain my situation to the private event people but they are pretty strict on people being booked guest:confused:

You should be able to call MS and get a definite that your reservation is confirmed. Depending on how far along your ressie is in the process, they may have a confirmation number they can give you over the phone. When I booked my stay at the Grand Californian, the MS representative told me immediately that I definitely had a room but it would take a few weeks to get a confirmation number and papers in the mail. I told the MS agent that I was about to purchase non-refundable airfare and needed to know that I definitely had a room reserved before purchasing. I was told I absolutely had the room and it was safe to go ahead and purchase airfare. It turned out the MS agent was correct.

I sent an email 3 weeks after booking with developer points asking about a confirmation and received a reply with the confirmation a couple of days later.

I just made my ressies and I used developer points for Aug. MS said it would take 2-4 weeks to receive confirmation via snail mail and it would be 2-4 weeks before it was online.

We booked with developer points the first week in January and did not receive a confirmation letter until well into February. The letter states that they "confirmed" our reservation on January 17th, but they certainly did not mail the letter at that time. We called MS to get our confirm #, but even that took 4 weeks to get. You will never see it online because we were told that those ressies are "in a different system".

BTW it is our second anniversary in August, and we will also be celebrating in WDW (we got engaged on the Wonder) Happy Anniversary and have a great trip!

I have just signed in to dvcmember and looked at my activity statement and it is showing my booking that i did with my developer points :confused3 i have a reservation number too!!:yay:

We just bought today!!!!!!!!!:cool1: So I'm not sure I understand. When I call MS will they tell you on the spot that you got the reservation? Or do you have to wait several weeks to find out you got the reservation? Or are you just waiting for written confirmation? Thanks.

I just double-checked my account and the developer points reservation is not online . . . . so don't know why yours is! But I did get a confirmation e-mail and have actually confirmed with the hotel (Grand Californian).

I dont know why either, it shows a manual adjustment to my points and also the booking (2br standard view @ the Boardwalk)and reservation number.

yes you get a verbal confirmation followed by a letter in the mail when you use developer points. If you are just using your reg points then it shows up under your vacations on dvcmember .com. They are just a bit back logged so it is taking a while for dev points confirmations it seems.

I booked a ressie with developer points on Jan. 23rd, for one week in Aug at HHI using our developer points. MS said it would be done manually and I would receive an email weeks later. I ended up calling and they gave me the confirmation number before I received an email on 2/3. Still no paper confirmation, and the ressie does not show up online on dvc.
