Reservation time with Fantasmic show?

What reservation time is best if you are going to try for the Fantasmic 8:30 show?

If you are looking for the F! package, you won't have a lot of choices - there won't be any past 5-5:30 PM. Most of the F! package times are between 3-5 PM, although I think they were doing lunch times recently as well.

For a regular dinner w/o the package, it's still going to have to be early. Allowing 90 minutes for dinner, and lining up 45 minutes-1 hour before the show (minimum most times of the year), you would still have to schedule dining by 6 PM for a comfortable margin.

I just booked a Fantasmic package the other day for our April trip. The show is at 8:30 and I asked for the latest dinner time. I was offered 5:00. As PP noted, there aren't many choices and the "best" times are available right at the 180 day mark. As it gets closer, your options are more likely to be around 3:30 pm, which is way too early for us to eat dinner.

reserved for this summer, the hours available were 1:30 - 5:00. As noted above the earlier and later times were the first to go.

We ended up with a 4:45 (which opened up later) and planned our other meals around that time.
