Reservation questions - Kids menu @ CRT

Just reserved ADR at CRT. We have a 10 year old and we are paying OOP (out of pocket) for this trip. I have read many places that when you pay OOP you can typically order kids menu for even grandma and no one cares.

My question is this: Since I made the reservation, and he is linked in my family and friends list, they obviously know he is 10. And since we prepaid, does this allow him to still order kids portion?

I guess I understand that when you show up, they automatically refund your card for the prepaid purchase, and then "re-charge" you for what you actually ordered, but just wanted to clear it up.

I've also read that there is no getting around the 10 year old thing at buffets, is that correct? how do they know?

He's charged according to age (Disney adult) at all buffet, aycte, dinner shows, etc.

At buffets, the number of adults and children in you party comes up on the check in screen. I believe CRT is the same as a buffet in regards to these rules because it is character dining. MOST other restaurants allow adults to order kids meals,. There are exceptions.

CRT is AYCTE, even though it's menu service. A 10 year old will be charged the adult price because of that, not because of the characters.

Its not all you care to eat at Cinderelllas, that ended years ago. But it is a pre-fix menu priced by the age of the diner, not what you order.

It's based on age so you'll have to pay the adult price for a 10 year old. They might let him eat off the kid's menu but you'll still pay the higher price.

1. At most restaurants anyone, regardless of age, can order from the kids' menu, but occasionally there will be a restaurant (usually a third party venue) or server who will adhere to the "Ages 3 - 9" that is written on the menu.

2. No, they will not refund your pre-payment and "re-charge" you for what is ordered. The places (e.g. CRT, dinner shows, dessert parties) that are pre-paid are based on age so if your son is 10, he will be charged the adult price even if he orders from the kids' menu.

3. They hope that parents are honest.

I think it is aycte but not advertised. I saw it on here and asked our server last time if my daughter could have a double order of nuggets and he said absolutely and brought it out. Didn't ask for anyone else because we were satisfied with our meals.

You can order off the child's menu. You'll get an adult portion at adult cost.
