I recently purchased DVC points at SSR. According to my documents, closing isn't until October 15th. Can I call now and try to make a ressie for January, even though I haven't closed yet?

I know it might be tough since it's only 5 months away, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks!
Terri

Maybe. Call MS tomorrow and try. :teeth:

Usually, if you buy directly from Disney (I'm assuming you did), you can make reservations as soon as Disney takes your deposit.

If the building your contract refers to is finished and already available for occupancy, you will be allowed to make a reservation. If it isn't, you'll have to wait until it is. Your guide should have told you if the latter is the case.

So my prediction is that you will be able to make a reservation - subject to availability. Some report that certain resorts and January dates are already booked up. But I think you will be able to get something at one of the WDW DVC resorts.

Best wishes -

I don't close for another 10 days, but I have trips booked for 3 nights in October and I managed to get 5 nights in December....and I only called about December's trip 2 weeks ago! :teeth:
Call first thing Monday morning....just be flexible about where you're staying :)

As long as your stay doesn't commence before the closing, you should be able to book immediately. And I bet you have a pretty good choice of resorts for January, as long as you're staying clear of MLK weekend.

and was going to try to get a room at the BWV. But I was wondering how easy it would be to get to the start area (EPCOT parking lot) on race mornings. Would I be able to walk or would I have to take a bus (which would probably be packed)?

I have ressies for the Poly (so I could take the monorail), but since I bought DVC, I figured I could save some of that money and just book at BWV. (I would try to get cash nights for the weekend, though).

If anyone has stayed at BWV and done the marathon, what was the easiest way to get to the starting area?

Thanks!
Terri

You might go over to the WISH Board. They have a whole thread of marathon folks and I bet someone there has stayed at BWV or any of the other DVC resorts for this event.

Good Luck (I registered for the half, but my best friend's daughter has a major event that weekend so I get to go to Boston instead.. Boston in January, I must really love this kid!)

Is this true for the world passport locations as well or do you have to wait until after your closing date.

I suspect you would not be able to go through Epcot that early in the morning, but my guess is they might have buses specifically for marathon partipants. I know they did from OKW when we have been there during the Marathon. We will be there again in January for it.
