Reservation Question

We are looking to get into BLT at our 7 month window. Our ideal date would be August 16th for 1 week. I was thinking that I might try a bit earlier (by a week or two) just to make sure that we can get in. My question...

If I get something a week or two earlier, would it be acceptable to then try two weeks later to get the week we really want? I don't want to create an inconvenience or go against normal procedures. If we couldn't get the week we wanted, going a week or two earlier would be better than nothing.

I don't think it's necessary. That's a low crowd time for DVC, as far as I know. I just don't think you will have so much competition that it will be a huge deal unless you are looking for a very specific type of view (and maybe not even then).

I agree with Vicki. What size room and what view do you wish to book? We own at BLT and booked 6 nights there for last August at the 11 month window. At the 7 month mark, I called to switch to BCV (at our daughter's request; it was her b-day trip). There was plenty of availability at BCV, which is a smaller resort than BLT. I don't think you'll have a problem booking the week you want, as long as you are ok w/lake view. And if you want a 2 BR, you might have to settle for a lockoff. Otherwise, you'll be fine. No worries.
