The 2 trips I have made to WDW I have used WDW Travel to make my reservations.
For our next trip (hopefully August 2003) I am think of just booking the room and then arranging tickets, air and rental car on my own hoping to save some money.
How woudl I go about booking the room, do I still use WDW Travel?
Anyone know how much you have to put down on just a room, do I need to pay it all in advance or just a deposit to start with?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Call CRO (407-WDISNEY). Normal deposit is one night room charge. If you get some type of package or code they sometimes require full payment 30 days prior to arrival with the same one night deposit.

You can also try either travelocity or expedia for the room and ticketmania.com for your tickets. Always check mousesavers.com for car discount codes. I always book everything separate. Good Luck.

So if I go ahead and book the room now with no code, can I call back later if a code comes out and try and get a discount?
Thanks for the help!

Yup. that is what i did, i made my aug 2003 reservation for the poly using AAA. But when the annual passport rates come out, i will call back and tell them i have an annual pass and get the discounts. they will just apply them to your reservation.

keep watching mousesavers. i have never used a travel agent, always book myself. cheaper that way, you dont get all those little things that you will never really do or use anyway.
good luck !!
