I am a new DVC owner and have not made a reservation yet. I will be seeking a reservation for August 2003 for eight days at BCV my home resort. Should I call everyday at the 11month window or just wait until the check-out day of my stay and make one phone call? I have read other people discussing how you should call everyday but I didn't realize what they were talking about. Now I see the light. But won't MS get tired and upset that everyday you call to increase your lenght of stay one more night? Thank you.

It probably won't be necessary for you to call every day but if you want to and have the time it isn't a big deal. Just tell them the first day you call that you will be calling every day. They simply extend the reservation with each call. They really don't mind. I have done it for a BWV standard view at Christmas time but that was it. Each call was met by a pleasant understanding voice on the other end.

Thanks for the reply. Have you ever emailed them? I thought everyday early morning I would email them to extend my ressie. Any thoughts on this proceedure would be appreciated.

I think if you want to do it every day, you need to call. I think I remember reading something in the written info from Disney that e-mail requests take a while to process. I don't have it in front of me, but I'm sure someone will know this.

They really don't mind if you call every day though. They go out of their way to be helpful at member services.

You're right. I just read it could take two business days to get back to email and fax request. I think I will call. Thanks for the help.

I would call MS on the first day and ask their opinion based on the recent reservations they were taking for the days before your arrival. I did this for BWV standard when I called in January for December. The CM said to call day by day. He said if I was booking preferred view I would be OK to wait until the end. What you could also do is call every 2 or 3 days to add to your reservation to be safe rather than waiting until the end.

I made my first reservation day-by-day. The MS person I spoke with on the first day noted it on my ressie. She did tell me that I probably didn't need to call day-by-day but if I wanted to that was fine. I told her I was new and was nervous about getting my reservation. She said no problem, we understand.

I always call day by day, that way I am sure of getting the resort that i want. i even call right at 9:00 am to make sure! i know that i need to get a life (besides DVC).

It depends on what size unit and how popular a time it is at DVC. If it is during the low point months, a GV or studio might need to be called in day by day. If you are looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom, I would call 11 months before the checkout. We have only called day by day for a GV during the holiday season. We have never had any trouble calling at the 11 month window for the check out day when we are getting a 1 or 2 bedroom.

Thanks everyone for the advice. We are going around the first part of August staying in a studio at our home resort BCV. Will that be a problem? Also, I was thinking about adding a night a HH on our way down (studio week night) and a day at VB (studio week night) prior to going to Cocoa Beach to set sail on "MAGIC."
How tough is it to get a studio at these DVCs?Thanks!
