So I call yesterday, 180 days out, from my February vacation. I am making a reservation for 6 people at Hoop-De-Doo and the woman tells me that Disney is not taking any reservations at this time due to a system upgrade. She said I shoud try back in late October! Has anyone else experienced this? I plan on calling every day until I get my ADR's as I will be there for a week and if I dont get them we very well may stuck eating counter service the entire trip. Does anyone know if this could be the start of onlne reservations? Thanks in advance

Disney is changing/ugrading their ADR reservation system. For the time being, ADRs can only be made 90 days out. There may be one or two exceptions to that, but I guess HDDR isn't one of them.

CM, CRT and V&A if you were planning on going to any of them. Disney is hoping to have the upgrades completed by late October (the 24th?). They may switch back to 180 then or at some later date. You may want to keep an eye on the board around that time.

And don't worry about getting closed out - everyone else is in the same situation as you are!

1) Just make sure you call FAST when allowed.
2) I am sure there will lots of other people on the line.

Even in what was usuually busy July, the changes to the DDP and the economy have left many openings in the restaurants. I have found the even on the day of I can change my mind and get what I want. If you are paying OOP for HDDR there will be a decent amount of seating. I called closer to the 90 days for my July vacation and got front and center table the luau. And as othres have sais, everyone else is in the same position--so whe you call 90 days out there will be reservations.

do you think it might be implemented sooner? I have a fear of waiting until Oct only to find out it went into action earlier and then I will be shut out of the reservations I wanted.

Won't it be fun on October 24th when we all make our calls - that should crash the system for a few more weeks.

I think if I were Disney I would go to 90 days just to space everyone out a little. We can only wait and see.

have an online option for ADRs, at least that is being reported. Online menus is another reported option.

I'd try to keep track of the boards from early to mid October on. Disney wants to keep travel agents happy and usually provides them with advance notice - a couple of days at least - before going live.

I am planning to call periodically between now and late October for our late February ADR's just in case the system is up and running earlier than scheduled. I will also be watching here ;)

My travel agent told us the same thing, that she heard through the grapevine that when they reopen for ADR's in Oct. it will include an online option. It will be fun to work the kinks out of that one!
