Reservation number?

Hi everyone! :wave2:

We're a party of 8 people (2 families) from Spain who will be visiting WDW from Aug. 13 to 19th. We're staying at Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, and have Hopper tickets for 6 days.

My family consists of 4 adults (1 room), and the other family consists of 2 adults and 2 children (1 room). Each family booked through different travel agents here in Spain, so we both have a different reservation number.

I just recently found out about MDE and its advantages. I've been reading a lot online about it but haven't found answers to my questions yet.

I obviously want to make reservations for the 8th of us (FastPass+, book a table, etc) and not just my family, or myself as we will be visiting the parks together. So, my questions are:

1. Can I create 1 MDE account and link both my family and the other family (friends) reservations there? (that way I'd skip the "invitation" step) Or do we have to create 1 account for each family and then link then compulsorily?

2. Who should create the MDE account? Can any of the adults create it or does it have to be adult under whose name the reservation was made?

One last question (non-MDE related), how can I ask for our rooms at the hotel to be adjoining or as close as possible to each other?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

1. You can create 1 MDE account. I had 3 families (9) people on my account with 2 different room reservation. It makes it much simpler to book dining and FP's. You will, however, be the one responsible for making changes to FP's if they want to do something different and you will have to let them know the plan if things change. Our FP's change quite a bit due to weather, breakdowns and last minute decision making.

2. Any adult can create the MDE account. It should prob be the one with the most knowledge of how to work it. The app is sometimes slow in the park and the Kiosks work better sometimes if there is no line to make changes.

Call the resort and give them your two reservation #'s. They will put the rooms as close together as possible. They are really good at doing this for guests. I would call ASAP. Then call again a few days before the trip to make sure the reservations are linked.

My feeling is that each unique family unit should have their own MDE account. This family account would be created by one adult and would have any other adults in that immediate family plus all children listed in the Family & Friends section.

If each family has setup their own MDE account and has the resort reservation linked to their MDE profile, you can easily friend the entire family using the MDE website by selecting 'Through his or her Disney Resort Reservation' once you click 'Add a Guest'.

Thank you Ryansdad0727 and erionm for answering, you've been very helpful.

I've just linked one of the reservations to my account. The hotel part is fine, but when I look at the Park Tickets section of the app, only 3 tickets appear instead of 4. One of the children apparently does not have park admission, which is obviously not true.

Can WDW fix this problem for me via email or do I have to call them (a phone call to America is quite expensive from Spain)?

Thank you.

I would wait an hour or so and try again. Sometimes for me tickets don't show up once, then they are there later.

It worked! Thank you.

For some reason, my travel agent can't give me my reservation number in advance. Is there any other way I could get it?

Your Travel Agent may be unwilling to give this to you as they are afraid you are going to request to pull the booking away from them. You need to insist they get you the Disney booking # because you need to enter it into the Disney System for your planning. Other travel agents do not withhold this information!

More about Two families with separate MDE Accounts:

And I am also planning a trip with two families. They have one adult with an MDE account but I am entering all the tickets, FP, and dining. The ticket for anyone with an MDE account becomes theirs to manage... make sure they go in to the friends and family, select you, and check the box that says "Enable Parrotbill to view ALL your plans" not just shared plans. This is needed so your accounts continues to see that the other person has tickets. Without this setting, the mobile MDE app may lose the ability to see the other tickets.

I continue to manage tickets for all the other people in her family as they do not have accounts and I am doing the planning. I manage the tickets for myself and my daughter, but my wife has an MDE account. It was my wife's settings that taught me we need to enable "ALL your plans." We could not make changes to FP+ in April on the mobile App, it said she had no valid ticket!
