Reservation for Nov?

We are trying to go to BCV 2br 11/10-11/17. This is our first trip and we are new to all this. Our home resort is SSR. I am going to call Wed (4/11) and make one day at a time reservations. Is this the best way to do this?

I got this idea from member services. Is it likely that we will get what we want? Do most of you do this? Am I calculating my 7 month window right?

This is the end of the F&W festival so I figure alot of people will be gone.

I need help from the DVC gurus. Thank you. Any ideas are appreciated.

One other question - on the 2br villas the studio part does it have a separate door you can shut (just like a bedroom) if the studio is a dedicated room? I want to make sure we have privacy. I am not sure which is best to ask for a 2br dedicated or 1br w/studio attached. Let me know what you think.

Yes, there is a door between the second bedroom and the living room in the dedicated two bedroom.

Did MS say there was availability for that time? If they did, that would be rather surprising. And I think the choice between dedicated and lock off would be a moot point. Probably no dedicated left.

You can't start making your day by day reservations until Nov 11th, if you are checking in on Nov 10th. You might get lucky but will most likely be hard pushed to get BCV for the whole of your stay. Are you booked in at SSR? If not I'd call and make your reservation there now and then at least you have something if BCV isn't available. I haven't been able to get even a night at BCV for November so far, calling day by day.

When I talked with MS on Sat (4/7) they said there was availability for 11/10-11/17 at BCV 2br. I don't have a reservation at SSR and I might go ahead and do that.

Treacle44 - you said I can't make the day by day reservations until Nov 11th. That does not make sense. I am assuming you mean April 11th right? Let me know. I want to get this right.

There will be availability now probably, there was when we rang in advance to ask, but on the actual day you've got to be on the button to get what you want. We rang as soon as MS services but couldn't get BCV or BWV. Yes sorry I did mean April 11! You can call 7 months before your check out day. I was advised day by day is best but obviously you run the risk of not getting some days and will have to waitlist.

Thanks for info. I think I will try day by day. If we have to waitlist what are my chances? Do you know? Have you done this in the past?

All we can do is try. I am assuming the fall is the busiest of DVC seasons. It seems like everybody is going. Is that right? I have so much to learn.

TBh I have no idea, I'm new to all of this too, but have read up on it all lots. day by day is your best chance, but you risk as we've found that not all the days you want are available. We're going for 20 nights and are booked in at SSr for all of it, but have managed to change our 1st 4 nights to VWL. But have had to waitlist the 5th and 6th nights so far and probably the 7th it seems.

The problem with November is it's cheap in points terms, yet there is the F&W festival, Jersery week and then at the end, Thanksgiving obviously, making it popular throughout. At the end of the day I'm thrilled to be going at all, if we can manage to stay at 3 different hotels though, it'll be wonderful!

You are wanting Thanksgiving week. You are going to have lots of competition for those vacancies at BCV. Call early and call each day. If you have to waitlist, it might come through, but then again....
