Reservation for GV for Thanksgiving of 2013?

Okay...I have a question. I will try and preface this the best way I can.

We are planning a HUGE family trip (yes, I know, everyone advises against this), for my husband's entire family: his parents, his siblings, and all of their children, and, of course, the three of us.

We will need a GV for it. We are OKW owners, and will have the points for an OKW GV, but I am wondering if there exists the chance that, in order to guarantee a GV, we will need to 'walk' the reservation?

I absolutely despise the process, but Thanksgiving is the ONLY time that all of us could agree on because they are all teachers , we are not, and they all participate in competitive summer swimming programs, we do not. Is Thanksgiving such a busy time, that this is something I need to consider?

I hate even having the thought, but I have to ask...

I've booked GV's for Thanksgiving at SSR and just called at the 11 month mark, no problem.

Yes Thanksgiving is busy, but not NYE week/Easter busy. Always made my ADR's pretty close to the 180+10 window especially for turkey day itself.

I have a large family group coming this Thanksgiving and i had to walk all my rooms as i wanted a grandvilla and all boardwalk view villas. It was absolutely necessary this time of year. OKW may be different

The BW only has seven GVs. OKW has more.

OKW has the most GVs. I've booked one for T'giving every other year since 2001 @ 11months without a problem. I also book 3 other villas to accommodate our family of 22.

I was starting to panic a little because I wasn't certain that my conscience would allow me to walk the reservation...
