We are going in November, so I've not booked anything yet, but I'm looking at it. The plan was to spend 10 nights on site and my mother and stepfather were going to stay offsite for a week of that, spending time in the parks with us. My mother has recently been diagnosed with cancer. If all goes well, she will be done with treatment in 2 months' time but we aren't sure if she will be up to making the trip or not. She's been told it'll take about 6 months to fully recover if this round of chemo and radiation is all that is needed.

Anyway, if I book tables for 6 and only 4 of us show up will that be a problem?

No won't be a problem. If you know she's not going as it gets closer its courteous to try and rebook for 4 but if that's not possible you can just show up with 2 fewer people.

Thank you.

Obviously we would try to rebook, but we may not know for sure until the time comes. She has really been looking forward to this trip. Living in different countries, we don't see a lot of each other as it is and she hasn't had a chance to see my kids at Disney since a trip to Disneyland when they were not quite 2 and 3.

I had one person not coming last time we went and I called Disney reservations they just took 1 off. They can take 2 off without cancelling and searching for a new reservation. So you can just call them and ask them if they can take 2 off the reservation.
