Reservation Contradiction - Free Dining Plan

My MIL called me and said she booked a room in December at AllStars and took advantage of the free dining plan. She booked a standard room (value) and was given the basic dining plan.

She called me to tell me that is what they gave her because I told her the website says that it should be the QS dining plan.

Anyhow - she has an order confirmation showing a value standard room with the base dining plan.

Has anybody else been given the base dining plan without paying for the upgrade when booking a value?

I wonder what the chances are, though she has a confirmation, that they will come back and tell her that she only paid for QS and try to change her reservation after she makes all of her dining reservations?

Hmmmmmmmmm, she may want to call back. Perhaps she thinks she got the regular dining plan when in fact she got the "regular" dining plan for the values which is now the Qs.
Personally I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I would definitely re-inquire.
I hope they DO give it to her, that'd be great! Let us know............
As a matter of fact, we returned from Disney a few days ago (por, free dine) our bounceback was for 40% off room but some people in Values got FREE dine and I am not sure WHAT program they got, maybe it was a similar code and she got lucky????

Or maybe they asked her if she wanted to upgrade to basic dining and she is paying the difference? I would call and confirm exactly what she has.

This happened to my friends that booked a few weeks ago. They have the basic plan and are staying at Pop. All of their paperwork that they received says the basic plan and the price they paid was without the upcharge.

Maybe she had a PIN code attached to her account. Before the QS dining was issued to the public, I received a PIN for a free regular dining plan during November/December. She should be able to call back and find out what kind of dining plan is included on her reservation.

I called on her reservation and asked. That is exactly what it was, they just did not tell her that. She does not have enough understanding about Disney processes to know what to ask.

OK, now I'm totally confuzzled. If you book a value during the free dining promotion, you automatically get the Quick Service plan??

Really like to clarify because I thought I was getting the regular dining plan and have all my ADR's booked...

If you book a Value resort, you automatically get the QS plan. If you book a moderate or higher, you get the regular DD plan. I was going back and forth with booking a value vs. moderate and with the difference in dining (and of course, the nicer room/resort) it makes sense to book the mod.

If you booked for the current free dining, that is the promotion that ends the 3rd of October you will get the regular dining plan(1 snack, 1 counter service and 1 table service) with a value resort. If you book a value resort for the next promotion then you automatically get the Quick Service Plan but you can opt to pay an additional amount for the regular dining plan.

I was sent a pin for free dining at a Value and it included basic dining.

I wanted to add that not ALL future promotions are free QS dining at values. If you booked a value for bounceback free dining next august-oct 2010 then you get the basic dining plan. I was confused after I booked it when I was in Disney a week ago, and called back to verify which dining plan I was getting. The CM said QS at values was the one going on later this year, not for the bounceback next summer.
