Reservation confusion

So I called today to find out when I can make by December 08 plans (staying Dec 22-Jan2) and was told that I should call tomorrow to book Dec 22 and then I have to call EVERY morning and modify my reservation to add another day. She said I wouldn't be able to book the whole 12 nights until Jan 2nd at which point other people would have been booking individual days and I may not get anything. Can this be right ?? It seems crazy to have to call 12 days in a row and have to keep modifying.

Yes, this happens to me every year. I only get "hung up" in making ressie for dates that are 365 days out. I camp in Dec. say like the 15th and I book for the next yr. (like Jan. 3rd) as soon as I return from the Ft. (ok, so i try to make ressie). They tell me to call back just like they suggested to you. I mean why? My theory is the computer can't make ressie that far in advance. The website can't do it so I guess calling has the same hang up??
You're not alone it happens to me everytime.

i don't get it but I keep calling and get in with not too much trouble.
