Reservation Change Fee???

I am considering adding DDP for our June trip, but am still on the fence.

The TA mentioned that if we add after the 45 day final payment that WDW may assess a change fee. Has anyone had this happen (or not happen)?

We added the DP with about a month to go and I don't recall getting charged a change fee. . . I think Disney is more lenient when the changes are already to their financial advantage.
