Reservation/Cancelation Policy Question

We are trying to understand the in's and out's of this before making this purchase. Hypothetically, if one books their home resort (SSR) 11 months out and then decides to try and get a different resort 7 months out (BCV/BWV) and it is in fact available, is there a fee or point penalty for making that change? Is it even possible to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No fees and yes, it is possible. The only change would be any point differences, which you would have to be aware of where you were in your use year if you switched to a reservation using less points.

Unlike every other timeshare on the market, Disney doesn't have fees or THAT many penalty's for cancelling and rebooking reservations. You only run into problems when you can less than 30 days out...your points will then go into holding and can only be used for ressies within 60 days. You do just have to pay attention to the banking and use year window.
