I'm looking into purchase a resale at BWV for 200pts at $68 a pt. It's in my current use year and there is only 48pts left for this year 2003. What should I do as far as dues or making an offer? Any general info would be great ,I've never done this before and I don't want to get on the waitlist at the BWV and we got a big tax return and I want to do this before my wife decides to go shopping! Thanks !!!:p :p

Even though there are only 48 points left for the 2003 use year, I think you are going to have to offer more than $68/point to get by Disney's ROFR. Just read a post that someone lost a BWV contract to Disney within the last week or so. IIRC, he offered $69.75/point. Don't know any other details about the contract except that it was a December use year.

Good luck!!

That seems to be the question right now, Master Grayson!:D My resale came through last week at 72$ pp with lots of points still attached. It appears as though Disney is exercising its ROFR for anything 70$ or under - even if there are no points remaining in the contract. I have a bid on another one with no points available until Aug. 2004 at 64$ pp (I am not holding my breath!)We'll see, I'll post whatever happens. The way I feel is, you won't know unless you try - BUT - be prepared to wait awhile...
I think my chances on this one are slim, but who knows?...
You'll have to gage how badly you want it and whether or not you will be okay if Disney snags it in the end when deciding how much to offer. I don't think I could stomach paying more than 70$
per point for a contract low on points!

I think it may fly as long as you buy as is. DO NOT ask them to pay the closing costs as this will deflate the costs even more. Hopefully they have paid 2003 dues and I would consider it a moot point. Good luck, I noticed this one too but we just added on at VWL. Keep us updated, I'm sure all inquiring minds want to know.
If we had a hugh check coming back DH knows where I would go shopping;) (hint-mouse house)

I'm currently considering selling (not an ad!!) or renting.

The realtor told me to expect $68 to $72 per point before he knew the details of my contract...but I got the impression that price would apply with or without points for this year. And that it would probably sell within a very short time frame. Hope that helps.

The seller will get his asking price/purchase price regardless of who makes the actual purchase. If Disney buys back, they buy back the contract at whatever price was negotiated between the seller and whoever was trying to buy the resale. If it's too low of a price (by Disney's ROFR standards, whatever that is), then the buyer eventually loses out because Disney will buy it back.
