We are thinking about a small resale and wondering if the use year has to be the same as yours? Will Disney allow you to buy a resale with a different use year?TIAMarianne

No it doesn't have to be. We bought an OKW resale last year with a different use year. It started getting confusing though because I have 3 other contracts with the same use year. So, I just sold it :)

I was wondering if it would be too confusing! We have two contracts with a March use year. Our recently widowed friend has a small (151 points) contract her DH gave her for Christmas last year. She will be using it for the first time in January, but isn't sure she can afford to keep it since her DH died suddenly. We have considered buying it from her, but the use year is June, and I was wondering if it would get too complex to keep track of.

Is it too difficult? I guess 3 would be harder. I just found it a hassle. Plus I was assigned another member number because of it. This made it a little more confusing in dealing with MS, even though they were linked. I have to admit, it wasn't that bad, but I am a little anal and like to have things neat & tidy

While it does require a little more recordkeeping, multiple use years and contracts can easily be done. MS will assist with your records- both over the phone and with a printed accounting- which some have found confusing to follow.

We have 4 different contracts, 4 different use years at 2 resorts and, thus far, have had no problems with losing any points. MS has been great about looking up point totals in each account with every phone call.

Enjoy!
