Resale shopping again.. my heart wants one thing but my head says another. Give your opinions.

Not really apropos to this Resale thread, but I've decided to add on some points at Riv.

Yes, the blame belongs to many of you, so don't try to shirk it.

I'm going to do it second week in July so I can see what the new incentives look like. I just need to decide 100 or 150. 🤔
Congrats!! Was it my talk about the various coffee options at RIV that sold you? I kid.

I think waiting and rolling into next incentive period is very smart.

Feb, yes that's the thought process.

I would do a 100 and a 50 separately if I went that route.

Or I could do 100 now and 50 later on when I get freaked out that the resort is almost sold out.
IDK what your other contract sizes are, but 75 and 75 could split with another 75 at another home resort and keep direct benefits when totaling 150 if you ever decided to downsize.

The 100 point tier is decent this round with D23 and AP, but it usually does get better as you go higher. If you think you truly want 150 I would personally get the 150 rather than buying 100 now and 50 later. The final push of a resort tends to sees prices go up as inventory gets scarce.

I’m jealous! I just missed my June UY window…I was all in on POLY and then thought wait - maybe I want more RIV 🤔
I've thought about Poly a lot too.

I just like having a bigger hunk o' points at my resorts so I can get into larger villas, so decided to go more RIV. I really like the Tower studios if it happens to be just me going, and the point charts are a tiny bit better than Poly (I think).

I have 75-75-100 at RIV now, so I feel like I need another 100 to keep it even for my other kid.

I don't have a history of accumulating points in the most economical way possible.

My only claim to fame is jumping on the famous VGF fire sale, which was purely accidental. I didn't even know what I was doing at that point.
Haha! That was a lucky accident for you then. Im still sad I didn’t accidentally stumble into that fire sale.

That contract is definitely a badge of honor for me!

OTOH if I ever sell anything, it will be the first one on the chopping block 😆

There’s some dangerous FOMO and endorphins running rampant around these DVC threads today…we’re thinking of doing a late July trip, probably staying at RIV…and we have an Aug UY…Last time we purchased, we were literally on the Skyliner back in December and we doubled our initial PIT purchase…me+good vibes and fomo= questionable decisions. This board doesn’t help. Gonna have to avoid it here come July 🤦🏼‍♀️

I really really hope not as high as Poly. I also really hope Disney decides to ditch the same ole same ole they have been doing. All new rooms looking pretty much the same except changes to theming.

Yep tried buses again during this exploration trip and used them at non peak times and still loathed them just as much. The only thing they had going for them was the AC.
The bus A/C is suitable for preserving ice blocks. We rode them just a handful of times and each time felt like we were in a meat locker. I like taking the A/C as much as anyone, especially in the July heat but one extreme (105 Fahrenheit) vs another (-45 Fahrenheit) from the buses is like choosing between boiling or being flash frozen.

What was the VGF fire sale? I missed it, fill me in so I can be jealous.
You could add-on 150 points for $161.10 per point after incentives and selling back the current UY with MB (priced at $22 then) in summer 2023.

The really great thing was it included the same UY points as people that purchased Big Pine Key/VGF when it first went on sale in 2022.

If you had a summer or fall UY MB during this 2023 promotion was really a steal.

Yes! When you get off the bus the heat feels that much worse since the bus was so cold.

I mean, I can. But I probably shouldn't. 🤣

ETA - I just looked at it says it's 45g of sugar. Is that a lot?? I honestly don't even know.
Haha, that’s the best way to live (as long as you are in danger of diabetes).
I don't drink any kinds of soda or juices so it's just water all day plus a couple Frappucinos a week. So I'm not too concerned at this point.
Again I say, Hakuna Matata!

Seriously, Frappuccinos aren’t tempting because they aren’t sweet enough for me, my favorite coffee drink is CBTL’s ice blended vanilla, I’ll toss in some chocolate covered espresso beans if I need extra caffeine. 🤪
