How is it that I get a survey every single time I visit DLR but almost never at WDW?

I am so anti-merch scalpers so I feel bad shopping on eBay, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I’ve bought stuff I regretted not having in the parks once or twice, I also find that if we go at the very end of a festival at EPCOT they are usually sold out of the bonus prize stuff so I try to secure it on eBay before we go if I love it…but also sometimes I just walk through the parks and see something I absolutely love and it turns out it hasn’t been sold for 5+ years and then I’m hunting for it on eBay during the next queue.

Hmm, not enough sugar and whipped cream if you ask me.

Those photos are so charming and make me want to visit WL (for the first time ever) ASAP, but our next visit is in August and I don’t think that walk will be pleasant in August… are there other times of year that are best/worst?

I actually think BCV is pleasant to explore in the rain— sure not for stormalong bay, but there are lots of rooms with big windows to sit and relax in and it’s all connected (along with Yacht club) indoors or under a covered breezeway.

This would be the perfect Disney ending to your quest. 🄰

That is such a nice view for a resort view. I wonder how loud the pool noise would be on a pleasant day in June/July. If I ever make it to CCV I want to feel like I’m lost in nature.

I can never keep track of all the discounts. When I’m at restaurants I just ask ā€œwhich Disney affiliation gets me the biggest discountā€ and they look at me funny and say ā€œwhich do you haveā€ and I say ā€œpretty much all of them, try me.ā€

I had the Dream pass at launch and didn’t renew because securing reservations was so annoying…it felt insulting to know they were selling day tickets but I couldn’t visit if I wasn’t able to plans several weeks in advance…wasted a decent amount of time refreshing and stalking. I also realized about 50% of the way through the year that having the Dream key was making us go way more often to get value out of it, but then when we were there we paid for F&B and LL, sometimes a hotel, etc., let’s just say we weren’t making it up on volume. 🤣

We have only been there in January so it was always pleasant for us. Haven't experienced crazy heat there. Or rain yet.

I haven't stayed at CCV. But over at BRV, it was very quiet both times we stayed there and definitely felt more 'lost in nature.' But there are CCV rooms that don't face the pool that would give that feel a bit more, I think.
This is why I need coffee options close by in the lobby. This is mold my friends. 🤢 I can’t modify the lattes at the one place here on mobile order to have non dairy milk 🫤 Hopefully the line isn’t crazy long. Minor inconvenience.

that is so gross! We used the Keurig in our room on one day during our last trip because the coffee at Roaring Fork was broken, which made the lines for coffee at the counter insanely long. But typically, I don't use in-room coffee makers for this exact reason.

The things I saw working at a theme park as a teenager (Not Disney, but a competitor) let's just say I can never order anything out of a smoothie machine again...

That boat ride from WL was insanely amazing. How is it earlier in the day say 8am? Do you usually have to wait a long time due to the amount of people that early?

I can't speak on that since we aren't early-risers. But there was a time on our last trip in the early evening when the wait plus the ride over ended up taking 30-45 minutes (can't remember exactly.) It was so bizarre but that was the only time we had a bad experience with it. (Well...also not great the time some dude on the boat was throwing up. 🤢 That made us have a slight delay.)

I imagine at park closing, there might be a bit of a wait as well. One night we stayed closer to park close and had to wait for a 2nd boat.

Overall, the boat is the best though. We now start and end our trips with MK so it's our first and last 'ride' of the trip.

It’s so funny how that looks like literally anywhere in Oregon…. except the trees aren’t mostly evergreen….. and there are no volcanos off in the horizon….

Amazing that they built it, stunning lobby… but it does absolutely nothing for me….

We bought the 4 day tickets which are good until August and then the costco deal to cover the rest of the year minus september.

Im using them to go once a month so im glad they dont have any restrictions on having to use them within a short amount of time and im also avoiding being blocked out of everything and having to refresh an availability calendar multiple times a day or punished if I get sick or change my mind.

This is less than half the cost of the inspire key and the costco has lightning lane. Holidays at Disney are around $200 a day, which is why the magic key just makes no sense to me anymore
I'm not going to renew my Inspire Key. It expires in September and I am going to DL shortly after that. I'm considering the Costco ticket, but I was only planning on 2 days in the parks and I don't think I'll go again by the end of the year. It's mind boggling to see that's there's little to zero benefit of having the key for me anymore. I've had Aps and MKs nearly every year since the early 1990s. They seem to have frequent ticket deals and I always stay onsite now so I don't need the parking. If they ever decide to offer what we used to get with APs, I'll revisit having a pass.

I mean… there is the 20% discount on merch, access to MK terrace, exclusive merch….

Not saying it’s ā€œworth itā€ for you to have those things, but there is not ā€œzeroā€ benefit.

Oh man, I really love WL and the rooms at BRV, and this thread is making wonder if I should let go of the 2042 thing and buy points there! Then I
read this article where Tom Bricker calls BRV the best rooms on property and I started looking at contracts šŸ˜‚ https://www.disneytouristblog.com/best-rooms-wilderness-lodge-boulder-ridge-villas/

We haven't had a lot of issues getting weeklong stays there, but I know in December it would be very difficult and I'd love to try that sometime. Maybe I'll try swapping points with another member first and see if I do need to own there to get December stays...

Anyway, I hope @VGCgroupie had a pleasant time boating to MK!
I’m gonna have to watch that video later. ā¤ļø

I used to use those "benefits", but no longer do. The only one that I still use is the 20% off merch, but since I get 10% with DVC, I'm not really saving anything with the MK discount considering how often I use it for park entry. If I visited the parks a lot more often, it would be a different story. I used to visit every other month. Now, I'm thinking about once or twice per year.

I get that. Previously VGC had such appeal to me because I was raised in San Diego. Then lived a very long time in Phoenix Arizona. So it’s was was like ohhh nature!! But because of where I live now I’m not in as much of awe because I have similar views out my living room window (promise I’m not trying to be a bragger mcbraggy pants)

It is really sad what they've done to the program. I too have had annual passes for a very long time. Never thought I wouldnt have one.

They've managed to create this FOMO where the passes are way more expensive and now there is way more people.

Main street was literally full to see the Paint the Night parade 2 hours early and we just left 🤣🤣

Since I still love Disney ofc, having DVC is a total game changer and im so glad we bought now that the crazy is here in full force.

When we stay onsite for our next dl visit, I will gladly enjoy the park, go to my room and refresh and relax and then go back in specifically to see the parade and fireworks and peace out. It really is a game changer. The only thing better would be if they delivered shopping bags to the hotel.

I was getting really sour on Disneyland and now I realize it was because I was super irritated with the Magic Key program. When I cancelled they sent me a survey and I gave my two cents lol. Gone are the days of coast to coast passes and $500 unblocked aps

Too much demand! Luckily, as you mention, for us DVC owners we can pop in and then relax, vice versa. It's made Disney vacations true vacations for us. So now we do non-Disney vacations where we're go, go, go, knowing we'll have a more relaxing vacation later when we go to WDW or DLR

Should I go to Poly again since I didn’t see the entire GCH or go to OKW? Currently at MK and I have 1.5 hours.

Is OKW basically just like SSR just without Disney Springs?

I love OKW, it’s the original and it’s definitely a magical place but the major downside is the internal bus route and building style is similar to SSR which you didn’t like
It’s got a much better vibe than SSR but if you might be buying Poly you should check that out again to make sure
