Resale Riviera - Do I want the same use year as my other resort?

Just a sanity check, I’m thinking of buying a resale Riviera contract. With the restrictions, I’m gathering that it probably doesn’t matter what use year I buy since it can’t be combined with any other home resort reservations. Is that right? Or is there value to still having the same use year that I’m missing? TIA

You can only combine it with other Riviera points. I have two 50 pt Riviera retail and I am purchasing another 50 resale, so I will have 150pts at Riviera total that I can use at Riviera only (and 100 I can use elsewhere).

Thanks, this would be my first Riviera. So any add-ons I would try to keep the same.

Depends on how much you go. If you go often, I'd consider making this standalone because the points are so different and you want to make sure you're using it correctly. And you get an extra waitlist, which could really be helpful with restricted points.

I kept my RIV resale the same as my direct points. I don’t want a transfer between memberships to count as my transfer for the year in case I need even more points for a bigger RIV stay.

My RIV resale was put into my account that had points eligible to book RIV so that if I ever needed a few extra to add nights or upgrade room size at 7 months, I can.

I would always get the same UY. I have multiple contracts including RIV.

35+ contracts all the same UY. Just makes life easier.
