So I have a choice. I'm going to buy, but I need advice, please!

There are two contracts for resale out there that I'm ready to pull the trigger on but need help choosing. I like both AKV and BWV-- I believe AKV is a better deal bc it is marginally more money ($10pp more), marginally less maintenance fee, and has a 15 year longer expiration date. BWV, however, is a better location, is less money ($10pp less), expires sooner, and has a higher maintenance fee/is an older property. I would be happy with both.

AKV has a June use year, but sellers want me to pay for closing and 2011 maintenance.

BWV has a June use year, but if sellers pay for closing costs and 2011 maintenance, the price difference is about $10 per point.

Any advice?? HELP, I'd like to choose/make a decision and go forward ASAP.

Sue

Both resorts have cheaper rooms.

Do you like to go during F&W fest???

Unless you really want the extra years.....I would pick BWV because it seems it is much easier to get into AKV(kidani) than BWV.
I could have added onto my Kidani stay Easter weekend last week.

Also I would pick BWV for transportation options. I am biased though....BWV is my favorite.....but I am looking forward to my 1st kidani stay in April.
Happy planning

will you need/use home resort booking at 11 months? For BWV, the benefit is being able to book standard view rooms with lower points. If you plan to book those rooms (right at 11 months), you need to factor in the points savings. If you want to book AKV concierge, then you need the 11 month booking window---same, many times, for AKV value rooms, which also save you points.
So, if you like them the same and everything else is a toss up, I would think about whether you plan to boook those categories of rooms.
Also, if you are not picky about your room view, since AKV has so many units, it is not that hard to book AKV at 7 months, even for Easter, Chirstmas, etc. vs. BWV would be harder to get, esp. for food & wine.

Like ldo said will you use the 11 month window? If not buy SSR as it has cheaper MFs and buy in is cheaper than both. I personally love the EPCOT area and it would be BWV for our family. AKV is huge and easy to get into most of the time.

Really think about where you want to stay and if you will utilize the booking window - that should answer your question.

We went through the same debate last year. We had stayed at AKV and really loved it, but as I researched resales and looked into pricing and point charts I was torn. First contract we tried was 150pts at AKV, it was ROFR'd. Last one to get bought back at AKV in the last year, lol. We took it as a sign and went for 175pts at BWV for the same price.

With the advantage of the hard to get standard view and boardwalk view rooms, we figured it was the best choice to have the 11mo window there. AKV is substantially bigger and I doubt we will ever have an issue staying there at 7mo if we really want to. I don't care that much about the concierge rooms and the standard view pts at BWV are nearly as good a bargain as the value rooms (maybe more so since the rooms aren't smaller)

Go for the contract that seems to be the best deal, you can't go wrong if you would be happy at either resort!

Hello everyone!

Is it THAT DIFFICULT and UNLIKELY to book within the 7 month window at BWV???!!!

This is why we're leaning towards BWV, but we prefer AKV b/c of the 15 year longer lifespan and the lower maintenance cost. Plus, we love Animal Kingdom, the park... and if they ever have a walking path to the park then I would have NO regrets buying into AKV.

We also believe the extra 15 year lifespan on AKV will provide us with some resell value going forward should we ever need to sell (though unlikely but you never know).

Any thoughts????

Ok-- trying to purchase a contract at BWV... I hope they are willing to meet my terms (I'm asking for a good deal :cheer2: so wish me luck).

Otherwise we may just go with the another negotiaton that we have on a AKV resale.

Has it been that hard to book at BWV?!?

Standard and BW view rooms can be hard (not impossible) to get at 7 months for much of the year and almost impossible to get from October - December. Pool/garden view can be easier if you are flexible with dates and room size.

We own at AKL and have gotten BWV, Beachclub AND Bay Lake Tower at the 7 month window and for BWV it was for Food and Wine Festival too!
