We own at two places and looking to purchase more points at one of the places through resale. It has the same use year as the initial contract. When I log into DVC I have two membership IDs (as two resorts) would the add-on become a 3rd ID? Or will it automatically combine with the already owned DVC as same use year?

Thank you!

It will show as a third contract. COntracts never fully "combine." They are all distinct units.

If it is the same UY as you own, and is titled the same way, it will become part of your membership. It will be listed as a 2nd contract, but essentially function as

If you are seeing two memberships now..not just two contracts..then they must be different UYs.

I have another question, sorry trying to wrap my head around it.

So if it never fully combines, how am I able to use all the points at 11 months at the sort.

So for example, 100 point UY April contract at BLT. 50 point UY April contract at BLT. Today I go in to book at week at BLT, MK view studio for 146 points for January 2021 (so 11 month window). Since they aren't combined onto one contract I can't get the week? Meaning technically 100 point contract is going to take me the first 5 days (20pt/night sun-thurs). Then I can't book my Fri/Sat nights until a few days later when I hit 11 months for those dates?

Sorry to be so confusing and I might not be explaining it right. I guess I just don't want to add onto my contract through resale unless it is going to be like I have a 150 point contract vs one 100 point and one 50 point contract.

While the contracts remain separate, the points can be used together at 11 months by simply checking the box in front of each to use.

The reason they remain like that is because they are two different deeded contracts so they can’t become one in that sense, it for use and booking purposes, the function as one!

When you add on, its to the membership, not the contract.

Thank you for the explanation! Light bulb moment, this is also deeded different as I could always sell off one.

When you say deeded different, do you mean different owners? If that is the case, then it won’t be in the same membership as what you own. That would Change how you can use the points.

If you have multiple contracts with the same use year at the same resort, you'll have access to the total number of points for that resort at the 11-month mark. It's one of the reasons folks recommend buying resale with the same use-year. It gets way more complicated for 11-month reservations if you have multiple use-years yet!

No deed exact same way as our current one. I meant different deed so I could always sell one if I wanted. Ha like anyone would want to do that though, more points is always great ;) Thanks again for your explanations!

Okay good! Yes, think of it as buying two houses next to each other on a street, You own both, but they remain independent of each other!
